honda's future plans for CART and IRL

I just read in AutoWeek that Honda is thinking about going with the dual-badgering with their engines if they are to continue making engines for CART. The article said that, eventhough the Acura name is more suited for CART however because Acura vehicles are not available under the Acura name in other countries, IRL will more than likely receive the Acura badge on their blocks, leaving the Honda badge on the CART blocks.

This is of course, if Honda continues to make engines for CART.

F1/CART/Indy fans, what do you think?

Honda should stick the Acura engine name on the IRL cars.... This would be good for companies like comptech who already build engines I guess....

IRL and CART should just end their divorce and get back together... While CART had all the stars, you cna see that CART will die soon if it dones't get it's act together.... A lot of the teams such as Team Penske have already moved back to IRL...

It looks like Honda will definitely make engines for the 2004 season. Probably for both series with the 3.5 liter. I agree that Acura would go on the IRL engine because they only sell in the U.S.A. More and more CART races are outside the U.S where the Honda badge makes more sense. As far as CART, i think they were on the edge, but with new leadership they are starting to turn it around. Penske may even come back is the rumor.
