Honda R&D Developed New Oil Test Standard HTO-06 for RDX
As mentioned in the July 2006 Acura Service News, Honda R&D engineers have developed their new oil test standard HTO-06 for the new RDX and specify that Mobil 1 synthetic is the only oil that met their test specs/standard. It will be the factory fill on the RDX. Look for the Honda/Acura HTO-06 spec to called out on future Mobil 1 containers and on any other manufacturer equivalent oils. The oil cap will even have "Use only Mobil 1 or equivalent"
Just another reason why Mobil 1 synthetic rocks!

Amsoil is in the works. Wonder what honda said the key element in mobil1 is that makes it the "ONLY" one to use. I'll bet it's because Amsoil is not available at stores and it doesn't have anything to do with the performance of the oil.

Meh... It does make sense to use a better grade oil in a turbo motor, but I don't think the CLS comes from the factory w/ a turbo 4 banger...
I hate oil threads... really... and I'm trying to think of a reason why I should keep this open
Maybe it should have been posted in the RDX forum ??

I guess that since the CL uses oil, I should probably leave this thread open
I guess I just don't see the benefit of synth oils at several times the cost of conventional oil in for my driving style..... I used to use mobil 1 when I drove 130 miles a day to/from work, but don't see a reason to now...
