Honda over Totota
Honda Accord takes over Camry's roll as best-selling car
Accord sales in the U.S. rose 2.5 percent to 414,718 last year toppling Toyota Motor Corp.'s Camry from the position of best selling car in the U.S. for the past four years. Camry sales fell 7.7 percent to 390,449. Taking the lead gives Honda a big advantage.
Honda trails Toyota as Japan's second biggest automaker.
Winning the title of best selling car gives Honda an immediate marketing advantage as it begins the year amid expectations of lower U.S. auto demand in a recession. The last time the Accord held the top spot was in 1991.
Honda managed to take the lead without offering no-interest financing. Instead, Honda has offered their consumers very high value models according to George Peterson, president of Auto Pacific, an automotive consulting business based in Tustin, California. Peterson added Honda promoted a special value package that essentially gets the consumer a well equipped EX level model for the price of an entry level DX.
Honda sold 30,069 Accords in December, an 11 percent decline from the year-earlier month. Toyota has stated its December Camry sales declined 10 percent to 33,106

I like Honda Accord desig much better than Camry ( in general if compare top honda acord and top camry models ).
But I have my personal reasons to belive that Toyota Camry offers much better reliability for power-train....
I've driven Camry till it had 200K miles, and it still worked like a swiss watch.... and I had never changed tranny fluid, it was black!!!! so much abuse and still making 200K miles... its impressive....

Back in 1995 I went with a Camry over an Accord for the family sedan. The Camry was much larger, better ride, larger engine, felt more solid.
I do still like the older Camry styling over the new one, but they do now offer a convertible. And the Camry is still larger than the Accord, a big plus for use as a family sedan.
