Is a Honda filter any better than...

... a regular one used by private shops?

Besides maybe a more proper fit, it really doesnt matter right?

I think some of Honda OEM filters are made by Fram. It would be ok, if those shop are using quality filters. Filter that doesn't leaks helps too.

Honda filters are made by fram and nippon.

The fram ones are kind of cheaply made.

Overall as long as you change your filter/oil within recommended times you will be fine.

Right, i doubt it makes a much of a difference.

As for the size, i'm sure there is a universal size(s) so fitting shouldnt be a problem either

do a search on filters,,, there is basic science that proves out which filter is better,,, if you want to believe advertizing and hearsay don't read or research any of the following,,,

this site is dated but will get you thinking about engineering and not marketing hipe...
