Homemade CD's? Beware
Homemade CD's? Beware
Hey guys just wanted to give you a heads up...I burn my own CD's(who doesnt?
) anyway---I put a label on one of em and it got caught in the 6 disk changer...I got it out but I would recomment NOT putting labels on your homemade cd's...the opening to eject the CD's on our changers is VERY narrow... just an FYI

OK :!!!! :(
So how much did you pay for that CD printer?? A couple of grand or so?
I also would recommend against the CD labels (I found out the hard way) because if the thing should ever get stuck in the CD player, and the label should happen to come off then you have all the label gum in the internal workings of the player.
?? Who know what happens to the labels if the CD's are in the internal mechanism and the heat of the interior causes the gum to expand and fall off (talk about some dirt lenses!!)

I use these...
I have yet to have one come loose. Plus, they are thick and glossy and look awesome. Unless I use a lot of black in the design, they are virtually dry when they come of the printer

It might not look as good as shiny labels, but I’m not trying to impress anyone.

I doubt "thick" is what he wants if his labels are getting stuck, but those are nice labels. The Avery labels are thin, perhaps because they are "Laser" and not "Inkjet".

I have used all kinds of labels since my first Pinnacle burner. The thinner paper labels don't stick as well. And tend to come free at the edges from spinning. $.02

I agree Shawn S. The Home Theatre is to Impress. That why you spend the Cash on Good Speakers, Amps, Projector and Screen. Don't Forget about the Pro-Scan DVD Player. But anyways, the CD Printer I bought Cost me around 380 off of E-Bay. It was the same as a name brand, but this one company maked Generic OEM Models. Same Drivers, INK and Everything, just no name printed on the Machine.

I also am a felt tip user...altho I did encounter a certian brand (cant remember) that would hang up a little bit even with out lables.
Labels getting stuck........
Avery Labels are so sticky, I've never had a problem. Once they're really down, they don't come loose or peel. Be careful with "Sharpies". The wrong kind will eat/etch through the CD (label side) and render it non-readable.
that's what i said before... i got CD jamming all the time.... radio just says Er-E1 and spits me to FM. Usually like an hour later it works again, but two weeks ago, it said that for a week straight so the dealer replaced it... i lost my CD's in it tho.
