LOL....It is complicated at first, but if the directions are not in the manual, then I'm sure there is a telephone number to call for help. I don't have a rolling code, but I know that you have to do something to your garage door unit too.

there should be a "learn" or "train" switch on your garage door opener (the physical, hanging from the ceiling of the garage, unit) or the receiver unit (usually on the wall near an electrical outlet).

once the homelink has learned to mimic your original remote (if it flashes rapidly whenever you hit the button, it has learned your remote code and knows it needs to roll it), the opener has to learn to distinguish the homelink from all the other radio garbage out there. thus, the train button. my train button was hidden under a panel on my wall mounted reciever unit, so you may have to do some looking to find it.

Do remember how you set ur garage door open with the remote? It is the kinda the same.
  • First, you get to synchonized the homelink and the remote. It is in the manuel to do that. I think you gotta reset it first by holding down all 3 buttons to it flashes. Next, you hold down the button you on and aim the remote to the homelink until it starts flashing fast.
  • Then, you sychonized the homelink and the opener like you would do the remote.

If you are concerned if the homelink works properly with rolling code, it does (I got mine to work). Actually I followed the instructions in the manual explicitely.

Shawn S, did you see my new post about homelink?

were you able to find a train or learn switch or button on your opener? if so, does it have an indicator light?

with my opener, I set the homelink button up with the remote. then I hit the train button on the opener and the indicator light came on. then I hit my previously programmed homelink button and that made the train indicator light on the opener go out. then I hit the homelink button again and it opened the garage door.

I also thought the manual said something about possibly having to repeat the homelink to opener part a few times on some openers. maybe this is where the problem lies?

I had to do it a couple of times to make it work. Just be sure you trained it right and watch the lights.

well i had no probs synchronizing the remote with homelink

it's the opener that's giving me problems. this is how i did the opener. i push the training button, light starts flashing. then i push the homelink button i just synchronized and let off. light on the opener is still blinking. i push and let go of homelink again. i do this several times and nothing.

i've reset the homelink buttons and started all over several times too

you think my homelink is jacked up?
