Holy hell... Talk about trying to get railroaded.

Ok, so most people are probably familar with my on going tranny problems. I told my service guy to explain my situation to sales and have them make me an offer to get me into a 6spd.
I get the phone call today, and the salesdude asks what I'm looking for, so I tell him. I explain to him my situation, that Acura is being a bitch and won't do shit for me, therefore the ball is in their court to make things right. Certainly the dealership is under NO obligation to do anything out of the ordinary, but if they want to keep my business and be recommended by me to others, they should at least TRY, right???
So I told the salesdude, I want to know the CASH difference. I'm not concerned about what the 6spd would cost me, nor the trade value. I want to know the difference....
Drum roll..... 10.5K!!!
That's the most insulting thing I ever heard. I told him I'd do it for 5K and that includes the 6spd having NAVI. I told him to esclate this to the owner, explaining to him my situation, my 3 trannys in under 10K miles. They're the LARGEST Acura dealer in the midwest. Take this shit to Acura and tell them to help them out if need be. I don't give a crap. I'm not looking for a free lunch, but I'm sure as hell not going to pay almost 11K PRE-TAX, for a car that is going out of style in one month.
The nerve...

You are definitely going to get low balled on your trade.....since the dealer is huge, they don't need your car (or want it for that matter). The used car market sucks, so they don't want to get stuck with a 2002 when you can get a 2003 cheap.
So, unless they can steal your 2002, they are not going to be interested.
Not to mention, you want a 6spd which really isn't problem inventory (due to them being limited).....they will sell them one way or the other.

Whether they need the car or not, that doesn't give them a reason to shove the biggest dick they can find in my ass. I mean, I was expecting to hear 8K from them, but NOT 10.5K That's insane.
Jesal... I'll be at Laurel Saturday morning. At this rate, Laurel will probably want 24K for the difference.

There's always the lemon laws - I thought it was if you had to have the same problem fixed 3 times in the first year or 2 or something, your car is officially a lemon and you can just about get your $$$ back. If you know a good lawyer, I'd guess that he/she could throw together a quick letter mentioning this fact that you could send to both the dealer and Acura HQ. That might get the ball rolling a bit better for you.
You could try just mentioning the law to the dealer yourself once you learn a bit more about it, but a quick little letter would be nice and official.

I really would like more than 2 seats. The S2K was on my list, but with the top up, it's whicked small. There is a Nissan dealer right down the street. I may take a spin down there.

Scrib,
Sorry, I just checked out the latest messages on your other post, didn't know it was 4 times in Illinois for a lemon - that's crazy. A good lawyer could still possibly word something well enough to scare them a bit. Threatening to stand outside their dealership handing out flyers to "inform consumers about potential Acura transmission problems" might work too. I can understand about not wanting to piss them off, but if you're determined to get out of the car you're in, and they want to play hardball, you might have to play hardball too. In the end, 3 transmissions in that short a period of time is just nuts.

Dude that sucks. My sister had a lemon 99 323i which had water inside the car whenever it rained (BMW tried to repair it 4 times). They exchanged her car for a brand new 325i with leather and stuff, same payments and no down, no inception, no nothing, even 1 year before the lease expired.
3 trannys in 10,000 miles. Thats not concerning, thats sad !
Read the lemon law in Indiana, and see if you can apply for it. State attourneys usually help you at no cost.

Screw the 6 speed. No offense I love mine, but it has its limits. Get the g35 coupe 6 speed or get a bmw 3 series. Even the new audi 1.8t quattro. Go to a dealer who hasn't heard of the tranny issue and trade it in there.
I already posted my similar experience with 4-5 Acura dealers. I wanted to upgrade my 03 6speed for a new 03 6speed, dif color, with Navi. No one was below $7000 + ttl + my 03 with 5000 miles. Even the dealer I bought it from 3 weeks prior, and my Legend before that. So much for wanting repeat customers.
I guess so.

Dealers suck! Plus now the used car market is terrible due to new car deals.
Just keep the car. If u had a White with Charcoal interior we might've trade it

my local Acura dealer has continually fucked me...
first they fucked me when i bought my TL... then 6 mo later they fucked me when I traded for my first CL...
then they TRIED to fuck me when i traded for my current CL... but thats why I ended up going to Park Ave Acura... who gave me a decent deal... a far better deal then Northeast Acura who had prolly made 15k off me in the prior year or so.
Park Ave was willing to deal with me despite being a first time customer of theirs. Thanks PAA

Even if you get your cls back in perfect working order, wont this leave a sour taste now?
