What were the coolant and IAT readings on the before and after tests?? Since the car sat for a couple of hours I suspect that things had cooled down a bit and may impact the dyno numbers some.

Nevertheless, it was still an excellent showing and represents what can be done and seen with these cars.

I'll post those later Steve and i hope to have Hammerman post the dyno sheets in the next few days.

I just got back from the dyno. Mustang dyno. 238WHP/211TQ. I'm not sure how that translates to a Dynojet but I'm still really disappointed. I don't have a baseline so it's really up in the air what these numbers even mean. All I know is that I ran a 13.6@105 at the track so 238WHP seems very low. I can't believe that Glen is getting 52WHP more than me so something is strange.

I don't have a B-pipe and I was testing w/ the 19's on the car...the guy said the dyno wouldn't show a difference btwn 17's and 19's so I didn't bother to put them on the car.

Oh yeah, when I disconnected the IMRC, I showed the same HP but a loss of 10TQ.

What was the temp ??

You have everything i have except the B-Pipe, so something is wrong there. I was running a mix of fuel that put me at 95+ octane, that might be a part of it ??

No idea. I was running 92 straight up, but I can't believe that would make THAT much of a difference. The temp was about 75 degrees.

Remember when we raced? I had the 19's and the HBP, you had B-pipe and lightweight wheels. We were essentially dead even. Something is not right.

Also, right around 5k rpm the car A/F went into the mid-10's. Really rich - but only for a second (w/ IMRC unplugged)

I'm actually looking at the plots right now, the best numbers were:

Max Power/Torque = 238.8hp/217.9tq

All other runs showed less gains due to heat. The fan they used was really big but didn't blow much air???

Well, the computer did keep freezing up and he had to reboot the software once. It was a pretty lame dyno facility, that's for sure. They tried to charge me for the 1 hr the guy spent messing around with the computer...I complained and didn't have to pay though. I'll never go there again... Blood Enterprises in Auburn.

Even 270whp would be a disappointment if Glen is getting nearly 300 w/ the HBP.

he's at 280, but he has the b-pipe. that should be good for ~10 whp.

a shop down here is having dyno days next friday and saturday. $30 for 3 pulls with a/f on a brand new dyno jet. come on down.

:edit: i see what you mean now, he should be ~300 in good conditions.

Mustang dyno's typically are 10-15% lower than the typical DynoJet number, so take that into account also. Basically Mustang dyno's are real world hp because they include loss from rolling resistance & wind resistance. DynoJets just measure what it puts out standing still spinnng the drum. For tuning purposes the MD is superior by far. If you post the graphs we can see alot better whats going on.

I wouldnt give a fawk if you had 200whp. You ran 105mph which is godamn awesome, so you're obviously making great power, and driveability is good I take it? Its just a number for tuning and bench racing, track numbers are really all that matter.

I do believe that you are well above those listed #s. My car dynoed 264 without the B-pipe and UR pulleys. I would suspect that you are in the 270-280 range on a Dynojet.

Steve, the baseline temps ranged from 94.3 at 2200 RPMs to 94.7 at 6800 RPMs.

The after dyno with the HBP temp was 91.9 all the way through.

Those sound like the outside air temp readings. What I was wondering about were the engine coolant temps (ECT) and the intake air temps (IAT) which is actually taken within the manifold.

Those weren't listed on the dyno sheets.

Interesting finding on the IMRC actually costing you some torque when unplugged.

true and everytime I say I'm not going to do something I end up with it. How do you think it will effect the motor long term? Its about 8 psi boost right?

with lighter wheels, the new pulley and the e-man u can def be in he high 12's

high 12's are tempting......I need to see what i can do when the weather cools off and I switch back to my stock wheels. I really haven't had a chance to run since I added the b-pipe and cooling mods.

I beleive abotu 8 PSI.

I wouldn't suggest running 8 PSI without an intercooler or running 100+ octane all of the time. You would be well above the octane requirements at that point and only a cooler charge or increasing the octane rating will help.

Potentially you could run the E-Manage and dump enough fuel to curb deto. But it would be so rich that any power gained through more boost would be lost to being overly rich.

Only on the 6MT though. No 5AT with the blower has broken the 300 WHP mark, yet. But maybe in the next couple of weeks we should see one or two.

Considering it hasn't been programmed for the blown J32A2, the Unichip is irrelevant. Plus, with what has been seen thus far the Unichip is not worthwhile on the blown cars.

Thanks Bro. I may consider the E-Manage.

100 Octane is $6 per gallon. The place i've started to get it at said they would now give me a regular user discount down to $5.40 Not cheap, but the throttle response and boost have really picked up By the way, i'm gonna run 60/40% 100/91 octane

As soon as it's cooler here in Sacramento ( Probably November ) i'll re dyno at Comptech. I hope to be at 300 WHP based on my previous dyno of 269 pre B-Pipe and HBP which just gave me a 31 WHP boost.
