Holy ****, You have to give 'em credit!

How do you squeeze 465 horsepower and 486 foot-pounds of torque into a P. T. Cruiser?
. . . VERY CAREFULLY!

You don't have to read it to know that... Just look at the engine... it IS a RWD car!

The stand PT cursier isn't RWD and the site doesn't mention anything in the upgrades section for the drivetrain. You can assume whatever the hell you want but i want to see the documentation.

Damn straight I would hope it is because it'd be stupid for it not to be but i don't understand why they company that's going to drop and engine into your car wouldn't say what drivetrain modifications that'll be making.

I hope to hell it's RWD. I also hope they sell it with the ability to option out of that silly color combo.

Astroboy and BNut are right. It's obviously (completely and utterly so) RWD.

The key is engine orientation and where it sits relative to the front axle. They don't put transaxles under longitudinal engines.

I pretty much agree but you the website says nothing about it and for me it would be a huge concern. I guess my initial gripe about the entire thing was so what if it has all this power because there isn't any way that you'll be able to put it to the ground effectively. That car will run into the same problems all these high horsepower vettes run into.

Oh, absolutely and more.

Even less weight over the rear wheels means that traction will be nil. Great for epic smoke-outs, probabably not so good for actual launching. (Remember that the Vette actually has a transaxle unitized with the diff in the back to aid weight distribution.)

And with the tiny wheelbase, I'd be kinda concerned if the rear did hook-up substantially. Can you say "loop-the-loop?"

Sure they do, look at a Legend engine bay. Longitudinal engine FWD.

Look at it again. Is the transaxle aft of the engine or under the engine? Does the rear of the engine block cross the front axle?

And then re-read what I said in reference to the pictures of the HemiCruiser.

Transaxle is underneath, Legends hava a bimmer style short overhang in front. The transmission extends from the aft of the motor into/under the cabin.

Hmmm. Indeed and quite unusual. Come to think of it, The 1st-gen 5-cyl TL, Vigor (maybe), andthe current RL (maybe) uses this config.

But Audis, VWs, Chryslers, Subarus, etc. all place their engines as low as possible, which forces the transaxle to be placed behind the engine. But none of these come back under the engine, and I doubt they hooked up a Hemi through a Honda transaxle. :P

I dunno what you guys are smoking, but that fucking car, is not fwd....look at the motor....for goodness sake, it's a freak V8 Hemi motor...how would you propose to mount a transmission and drivetrain for the front wheels, with a motor obviously slung low and by no means small???

give it a rest, it's RWD!
