I don't know about most other states. But here in MI, a significant portion of the population treks 2 or more hours north on any given weekend in the summer. Of course the holiday weekends are the worst.

Because of this exodus the oil companies feel it's OK to gouge the consumer. Gas prices here are up 14¢ over the past 2 days, and there are reports that "due to a problem with an Oklahoma refinery", gas prices are expected to go up at least another 15¢ before the weekend.

here in cali, it has finally gone down to 1.93 for 91. only weeks ago it was at 2.23 ish

Gasoline is so high, I am going to boycott the weekend and not drive anyplace and save the mileage off my car at the same time.

I heard it was a refinery in Illinois. Don't you love how these news stories always come out around Memorial Day and Labor Day? Why don't they just come out and say, everyone travels this weekend and we're going to make some money off of it.

Not just the trucks. But the boats as well. Or how about a truck pulling a 24 foot boat.
