HLSD converting the auto
HLSD converting the auto
so ericL...scalbert allmotor any other tech heads do any of you have any thoughts on the fesibility of converting the auto trans to the limited slip from the 6 speed and ...what would this do to the gear ratio if it can be done?????...to add some more specualtion power ,not that it's the same car but an auto 350Z did this and got a little closer gear ratio out of the deal...

i don't think any cl has broke 2.0
is our diff. completely open? the other tire never has traction?
because i know i've been able to slide my front end before. also, there is vht stuck on both front tires after a few runs at the track.

I think the HLSD would help the 6-spd alot more on a road course than at the strip when compared to the auto.

I think the auto is well balanced up front, the half shafts and what not. Isn't the HLSD more help on a course (turns), not a strip? At a certain load, doesn't the HSLD slip open anyway?
I seriously doubt that you could mechanically fit it without major work. But anything is possible.
But with regards to traction limitations with the HLSD; they still exist to a great extent. I would say that in straight line full throttle pulls the HLSD does more to keep torque steer at bay but will aid in launching to some extent.
The real beauty of the HLSD is in on throttle turns; this is where it shines over the automatics open differential. Having taken the same turns in both cars the manual version hugs the turn tighter with noticeably less push through the turn.
