HKS Superdraggers installed...Still pretty quiet.

Well, I installed these HKS Superdraggers this morning, and they are pretty damn quiet.

I wasnt looking for anything super loud, but damn, these things have nearly the same volume as stock. I was expecting more. They have a good exhaust note to them, but it still sounds the same as the stock mufflers.

Which makes me think, If i did headers/B-pipe with my stock mufflers would the exhaust be louder that just doing an axleback?

I had those too, they look great and sound good with Intake and Headers, you will hear a slight difference with headers.

Were they new? If so they need to break in. They get louder with age.

I am pretty sure if you had a full exhaust it would have a deeper tone then the axlebacks.

From what I understand...the tone changes also with time.

EDIT...fuzzy mentioned it first.

Yep, thats my next purchase.

Would a B pipe benefit me at all? I can get my hands on a comptech B pipe for a great price.

of course it would. in terms of hp probly not much but the sound will be deeper depending on diameter. get headers and i guess that pipe and your ride should sound mean but clean.

I just put on Magnaflow 14832's yesterday. The exhaust note did change. I left all the stock piping and the stock resonator....it sounds great. Not loud, but a low deep growl that is noticable. What you need my friend is a pair of headers. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR EXHAUST TONE. I was going to go with 2.25 or 2.5 cat back piping and a 18" magnaflow resonator, but I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money

I had an opportunity to buy the Comptech B Pipe but after tons of research.

Wasn't beneficial for the money

Should have gotten the headers first then the cans... Your exhaust tone would have changed with the headers and you would have picked up some good power from them as well. especially since the cans you pick up minimal power, almost purely aesthetics and sound... I have CT cans and headers and I love the tone I get out of them, and there not exessive and ricey. The longer I drive and after the car is warmed up my exhaust tone gets a lil louder... although I would love to get the ATLP exhaust, they sound amazing but teh dough for them is a lil much

but you've got cat back piping that's 2.5" big until the axle....every car with a deleted cat or highflow cat sounds raspy to me. It's ll about what you like I guess. To each his own

Once you open up past 4000 RPMs on a deleted cat (test-pipe) it sounds amazing - especially when you have aftermarket headers, exhaust, mufflers.

I think I'm gonna go with headers, B pipe, and stock mufflers.

I can't really say I like the look of these 4" pipes out the back, and I think I have a buyer.

It sounds like crap IMHO.

If you want something along the same lines but want to switch back-and-forth, get an e-cutout.

Had one of those on my Durango, although 5.9 straight pipe >>> 3.2 straight pipe.

I do not want this car to be loud by any means. Just some sort of low "grumble"

If I can't get it remotely to sound how i want to, the stock mufflers are going back on.
