HKS exhaust effect gas mileage???
So, after putting on my superdraggers and driving around a bit, I have noticed that gas mileage has decreased by about 5 miles per gallon!!! What is te deal??? Is there something that is wrong?? The only change I made in driving habits was actually not going into Vtec as much as I used to. Also, I now downshift to aid in braking. Other than that, I haven't changed anything, no gas change, etc. What is the deal?? Is it the exhaust??

hmm, I went through a weird experience w/ my exhaust, I had the Apex'i w/ no resonator and usually got about 250 a tank for well over a year. I then installed a resonator and just a greddy SP muffler to my existing 2.5" piping. My gas mileage went up to 340 a tank on the first tank and everyone since.

Cost Drivers!!!!
when i had my 5AT CLS in stock form i used to averag like 330/tank. It didn't change much with the intake. However, when i added headers/sparkplugs/exhaust i went up to 370-380tank of the same daily driving i was doing. I went to the track and really had a heavy foot but i'd get 380. Then i reset the ECU etc., It went right back down to 320. I think addition of h/sp/e resulted in the ECU running leaner than normal.

I usually get about 20 but the last 2 tanks of gas I've only gotten 18. I switched to Costco gas on the last 2 tanks and my gas mileage seems to have dropped! I had always used BP because the BP by my house has a great car wash. I'm going back to BP with the next tank.

I have a 6-speed with headers. About 85% of my driving is on the highway. Combined city and highway I get 25-26mpg. On long drives of highway I get 28-31mpg@75-80mph.
