High pitch noise coming from speakers

This happens sometimes, when the volume of the redio is very low and i accelerate over 4000 rpms. I hear a high pitch with incresing frequency while accelerating coming from the speakers. Its minimal but annoys me because it makes me remember my old Datsun which i installed a cheap radio many years ago.

Any info will be appreciated.

Its the dreaded alternator whine. If its an aftermarket system its usually caused ny something in the signal wires (RCAs) It happened to my in my T-Bird...I had to actually ground the RCAs by soldering a little wire to the RCA jacket then grounding the wire.....give that a try!

Just go to the grounding spot on the chassis and remover alll paint till there is nothing but bare metal. If that doesn't work then see if u can run the grounding wire back up to the battery. That would elimate all alternator whine. If that doesn't work then I would recomend going with SilverKnight and putting a ground loop isolator inline.

b/c i've been using bose for so long I was surprised when I too found that sounds actually go to higher and lower frequencies as well... I was like "woah! that's what music is supposed to sound like? What's the rumbling low frequency noise?" I was immediately explained that it was bass. I guess you do learn something new everyday...

"No highs, no lows, it's gotta be a BOSE!"

=P

it's your new turbo....doesn't it sound sweet!

do you have an aftermakret system or stock? Either way it's a ground problem. If you have aftermarket, just ground an RCA to your headunit ground.

You can also try a hyper-ground kit like the one Insamie(sp?) was selling. I put mine in this weekend and it took care of some lingering noise in my system.
