HIDs turn color?

Do HIDs turn color after prolonged use? For instance I have a 2001 CL-S and I was wondering if the color of the HIDs changes after 3 years of use?

Over time and hundreds of hours of use the light does change color, and output can (sometimes) decrease. The gasses in the bulb change slightly after significant use, that is one reason why people recommend changing the bulbs in pairs if one burns out (so the same color for both lamps can be maintained, personal preference).

From what I understand, after a while, lumens decreases because the prongs that create the "arch" of electricity can seperate a bit with vibration, making the electricty jump further, decreasing light output.

Same here... that's normal for an HID system. However, over just 3 years of use, they shouldn't be turning just yet.
