I dont know for sure. But i do know that you have to cut the front lip in half and make it wider. None of it is bolt-on. You prob want to talk to brianlin87 about this..

the 2nd gen would be easier. i doubt you cut it in half, but 3 pieces. it's best you bring it to a shop that specializes in this.

its not rocketscience man. you arent molding a widebody kit to the fenders. its just a lip to the bottom bumper. standard supplies like sandpaper, bondo, fiberglass, and scrap abs plastic are needed.

i just ordered supplies for our project and it ran $50. i think it's worth a shot to DIY if you have at least some experience. then when people go "damn! where'd you get that!" it's all the more satisfying.

i would still like to hear some of the quotes from other people.

if u dont want to tell me, thats fine, but share the wealth!

i woudl really love to give this a try ... u got to start somewhere.. might as well start off by doing ur own lip.. it isnt a complicated subject tho.

but now im off to pick up my comptech axlebacks!

i get that you want to be "special" and "different". how much money and time has this forum saved people? i recently saved $400 on my 30,000k maintenance (spent $100 instead). now when you can contribute, you decide not to. not a good AZ member there.

i decided to go with an epoxy instead of a polyester resin base with fiberglass fabric. Epoxy is much more adhesive to plastic than polyester. i just ordered a quart of epoxy and some fabric. other items i think we'll need ross already listed: a dremel, bondo and lots of sandpaper. there are still lots of unknowns going into this.

i believe a DIY could possibly be written but this is something that takes lots of time, patience and finesse. you can read all about the steps to paint a car and i can almost guarantee it will not come out right the first time. same with this project, no 2 will be the same.

i agree, with distoredolskool; it will not turn out exactly the same. but a few users already gave me and other readers a step on the right direction.

sorry, post 23 is a bit harsh.. but seriously.. i've met some very nice and helpful people on this forum, and i have the responsibility to be just like those people (nice and helpful).

sorry, but we cant hold your hand through everything. kevin and i are doing this lip with very little if any help from the forum. the internet is a big place, and there is a lot of info about molding body parts to be found. if you are serious about doing the project then you will take the time to research. you have to understand what you are doing more so than us just telling you some steps. its much more involved than installing headers on your car.

don't be afraid to call fiberglass companies and ask questions. i've called about 3 different ones asking questions on what would be the best substance to use and to go about widening this lip. now just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

ross - the goods should be here friday if UPS doesn't f*ck up.

I would get actual urethane repair material. It will bond better than epoxy resins.

Watch these videos.

like the first 4 items here

Be prepared for it to crack easy. Fiberglass doesnt flex. Being part of that lip i would rather use compounds that allow it to flex, for like driveways and parking curbs rather than crack when flexed

i plan on using an ABS plastic to fill the voids where the lip is widened, and just use fiberglass to hold that piece in place, not the whole lip. so i think it should be OK.

You may want to double check that, because the 2004+ is a completely different body style from the 99-03 TL
