HELP!! Who has raced a manual 330ci???
Some guy i know wants to race tommorw for $100 0-100mph. I dunno about tommorw i have 17 gallons of gas in the tank and i think i should wait till i waste it all. Its a manual coupe.
Can i beat it???

dump your spare tire and trunk liner just in case... and that gas.
seems like this is a drivers race from past posts.
Take it to a drag strip, you'll get close to 100, plus how can you tell when the other person hits 100? Plus that'll give you time to burn that gas.

i just gotta look under his hood to see if he looks stock, if he has headers i prolly cant see them...
maybe i should tell him to wait a week so i can burn the gas, imma idiot, this is the first time i have ever filled it up all the way in a long time, cause i usually prep for the track

yea, i was wondering y he wants to race till 100
i said lets just go to 70ish, thats like the end of 2nd gear for me, i guess they are fast from 70-100...

I've beaten one from 55-100mph but I don't know if it was a 5spd.
With your intake and headers you will definitely beat that guy. It sounds like you do a lot of racing so just get out there and do your thing.

imma auto, 14.2@98 is my best time.
i gotta run the car hard a few times befoe we race, it gets quicker after multiple WOT pulls

forget about the gas or the spare or the stuff in your car. just get in tell him to pull up beside you and just GO!!!!!
just make sure you get a GOOD LAUNCH and get THE JUMP that way it will be over before he can get his car going...

Have no fear ...I raced a 330 a couple months back and although it was close up until about 70 - I pulled on him after that ( I guess the headers really helped up top)

How much does the 330ci weigh? How much torque does it have? I mean the CLs is new to me, but not drag racing. If the numbers alone are going your way and you can shift well w/ clean launch you should have no problems.

My neighbor had a 330ci w/ manual and I ran him a few times in my TL-S w/ i/h and he couldn't win. In fact, with a good launch he would be ahead but I would catch him by 90 or so...The headers gave the top of second and third much more pull than the Bimmer had. Anyway, even an adequate launch should keep you the winner by the end, but don't flub it...
You start removing spares, seats, taking a shi+ and running on fumes, you should guarantee yourself a win!

Well the 330Ci 5 speed I drove felt much slower than my 6 speed, esp starting off in first. I was surprised at the difference.
You had to give it a lot of gas and the clutch doesn't engage til it's at the top. Don't know about the auto CL, but my 6 speed has easy and fast acceleration at every gear. The 330Ci may be fast but he'd really have to work it. To 40mph the CL should win, to 70mph I think it will tighten up.
How long has he driven it too, his skill with the 330 is a major factor. I'm rootin for ya.

The BMW would have the edge stock for stock, but if he's stock you'll take him with a good launch. Racing for money, I'd pull the spare tire and maybe back seat just to be sure... he's likely to be doing the same.

You should be able to smoke him. I took out, if you remember from another thread, a '03 330ci stick M wheels, from 0-100 and he was a my rear bumper when I hit 100, and I shut it down. Your car is modded my '03 TL-S is completely stock. Take this fool and his money!!!
