I am really happy with Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z. They are a little pricey cause that size is only available in the Z-rating. But, they stick like glue, tract as if on rails, have never hydroplaned and they are quieter than the original Michelin's.

I have the Toyo T1-S in 235/45 on my stock tires. If you want sticky tires, these are it!!!!!!!!!! They are a little noisy, but not bad. They will only last like 20K miles, but you will stick like glue to the road. The SO3's from Bridgestone seem to be sticky too, and they are a harder compound, so they should last longer. Ask TypeSDragoon about the Kuhmo's. He has them now, and he autoX's with them as well as drives the twisties and drives to work every day!!!

Thats music to my ears!!! Ive been wanting to know which tires give better handling then the stock yet arent as loud and rough as the stock michelins... and if these really are quieter (which also means they're smoother i hope?) then they're next on my list to order!
But if these trully are sticky and quiet, then why does everyone always cheer for s03 ??

By the way when I say 'quiet' I have measured the difference with a sound meter between the Turanza and the Michelin. I am a fanatic about quiet tires.

Yes, thats the one! The real trick with vehicles is driving over the same section of road in the same lane at the same speed with the same vehicle mounted with different tires.

First off SO3's are expensive ! They are quite, not noisy like the Toyo's after a decent amount of miles. So far to date, I have over 6000 miles, very little wear and not noisy. I've driven to La once from N. Cal and going this weekend again. I do ROTATE EVERY 3,000 miles and that way, they still look brand new. Now I don't drive like a "bat out of hell" either................All tires wear, so if you don"t mind squealing tires, stick with the GRANNY OEM type tires ! How do you like that noise ?????????????????? Squeal, squeal, just like a bunch of pigs ! I HATE THAT NOISE !
Happy tire hunting !

id also be interested in hearing the vote between these 2 tires....the toyos look cool and grip well but they look and feel like the tread will be gone in 10,000 miles...and im not about to spend any more than 150 per tire....200-250 for one tire is insane

Got da Internet Goin Nutz
I have the Kuhmo 235/45/17 If price is an issue go with the Kuhmo's. You can get them from discount tire for $95 a piece after road hazard, balancing, etc. they come to $500 for a set. Damn good price and a whole lot better than stock. If price is not an issue look into others. Do a search for Kuhmo, there are many postings about that tire.
