Damn...this morning at school someone scraped the right side of my rear bumper and left some really ugly scratches. They are the kind of scratches which are BLACK. There are miscellaneous scratches ranging from a half-inch in length to a few centimeters in width. The area the scratches are located within is about 6 inches by 3 inches. If I go to a body shop, how much do you think they will charge me??? Will a bottle of touch-up paint from Acura do the job? Anyone have experience with this?

i don't recommend it. i picked up my car and it had a few scratches on the side skirts and the dealer used touch up paint and it looks fucked up now. I have an appointment for them to repaint the whole side pieces all over for free.

The touch up paint will not be a perfect match. Depending on how bad it is, I would consider having a profesional look at it. Some professionals might be able to repair just the scratched spot. Like a mobil dent/scratch repair business.

I just got 2 nice marks in my rear bumper from someones front license plate bolts. Non-parallel parking mother fackers. One mark is not bad It's small, touch up paint will do. The other mark is on the edge of the license plate notch. It will probably look like a blob once touched up. But, it will look better than it does now.

I'm downtown a lot and will have more marks in the future. It would be a waste to repaint the bumper now. It is going to get hit again. Once is looks bad, I'll have the whole bumper painted.

Touch paint will look better, but not great. Try a small spot and use your judgment.
