alright here the scoop, last night i got out of my car and noticed that my radiator fan was still on so i got back in, started it and it turned off, i got out and it turned back on. i was freaking the fuck out cause i have never had that happen before. what the hell is going on? i check th etemp. and it was fine.

I didn't know the CL has one.

 

My neighbor did the same thing when he heard my car this summer. He came over and and said he heard the fun running on my car and that he thought I left it running.

maybe it doesnt , but thats really one of the only reasons the fan would stay on abnormally

 

lol..I guess this is your first Honda or Acura. They all do that..It always seemed like back in the day when I had a 91 Prelude it would stay on forever.

 

My fan constantly runs after the car is shut off... I like that! Lets me know that it will still cool the engine coolant regardless if the car is on or not.

 

My Prelude was always running.

Thats normal but was the temp gage showing it was hotter then normal? I don't think I ever heard mine come on after I shut it off.

If the temp is high when shutting it off or spike afterwards its not abnormal for the fan to come on with the car off. They can come on at any tiime

 

I stand corrected... I was thinking of my old car...
I do know that my fan DOES shut off with the engine, because I was using it with a power inverter and the fan would come on every few minutes and then if I shut it off the fans shut off right away.
Sorry for the confusion, but I do know that other cars do this. Most likely, it is a relay of some sort that would make it turn on after the car has been shut off but it may be possible that it is normal.
