Help on OEM ballast/Aftermarket kit HID's, I'm confused.

Ok, I've been bouncing around on the internet trying to figure out what I need to do, either change my ballast with an OEM from these guys: http://www.carhidkits.com/hid-ballas...llast-197.html

Or get a kit from them as well. Thing is though, I bought a kit from these guys: http://www.xenoneyes.com/

And i'm just not sure how to hook them up, I ordered the D2R kit, but what They sent me is a bulb connector from the ballast with 2 wire connector.

So I'm confused, please someone tell what I need to do, can I use this kit or do I need to send it back?

I got an 2001 CLS.

Did you need to replace your ballast(s) or bulb(s)?... You can order a pair of D2R bulbs if your original ballasts are still good, and that's all you'll need. If you're replacing one ballast or one bulb, you'll need to do 'em both because the color won't match. The kits that give you ballasts and bulbs are for people that are wanting to retrofit an HID setup to replace halogen bulbs.

The OEM labeling on the first link is misleading...

I need a new ballast, but i was wanting to them both, ballasts and bulbs at the same time.

I really didn't want to pay $399 for a single ballast that will go out in a few years.

If you seal it with silicone when you install the replacement, it will not have a problem.

No. 300+ for a ballast from Acura is retarded.

Depends on if you want a straightfoward swap or if you have an appetite for modification/fabrication. In the end, you might save $100 for a non-standard resolution. Your call.

Ok, I got a response from the website in the first link, carhidkits.com, this is what it says: "The after market kits will not work on your car. The bulbs are not the same.
What your going to have to do is purchase 1 ballast and 1 D2S bulb, and that will solve your issue.
We have those on our site,, its on the side menu, go under ballasts and then go under bulbs,, your going to notice that there is two OEM ballast one is $100 more then the other. Its because one of them is original and the other one is after market so its up to you of which one you want.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
