Help with Noise

I have an 01 CL-S and hope someone can tell me what this noise is. I hear a short burst of noise and sometimes two shortly after starting the engine. It sounds like an electric pump or a solenoid. After these one or two short bursts i do not hear it again until the next time I start the engine. Not sure if this is normal. Sounds a bit like my cell phone on vibrate laying on a solid surface. Anyone know what this is? Is it normal or a problem? Thanks

Do you hear it when you start moving? If so its your ABS activating. I was freaked out by the same noise on my test drive.

Yeah it's the ABS self-test. There is one right after start-up while in Park and another when you hit a certain low mph - I'm thinking 5mph. The test during park is transparent/silent in that it checks if sensors are functioning. The rolling test actually modulates the brakes. If you hit the brakes lightly at just the right time you will activate ABS even though no traction was lost.

So then I take it this is normal and nothing to be concerned about, right?

Same.

For me I don't hear it until I put the car in drive, and press on the gas... I hear one short vibrate/hum I can feel in the pedal about 1s after I push it... and then another about 3 seconds later as long as I've kept my foot depressed. Never noticed it until this week... weird.
