help with nitrous

does anyone know somewhere I can go to learn about nitrous? I know NOTHING about it or really how it works, and I want to find out. any websites that have a lot of info on it? or if anybody here feels like explaining it...these are the main ?'s I have:

how much does it cost? decent kit, install, refills?

can I put it on my 2001 cl-s?

what kind of gains could I get?

what are good brands?

is it harmful to the engine at all?

does it void warranty?

If anyone can point me to some info, or give me advice I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

yeah yeah I know...its just so much easier to have someone else spell it all out for me instead of looking it up. thought maybe someone would want to show off their nitrous knowledge.

I guess I could just look it up myself, its so much work though. all that typing, and clicking, and reading...

Another problem is you will get a lot of opinions based on their experience. Or their LACK OF experience with it, and what they *think*.

Go do some reading on it.... Make your own opinion.

$400-2000

I would not use more than a 75-100 shot. It will bring your car into the mid-low 13's on street tires.

You can do a 500hp shot of nitrous. You pick what your gains are.

Yes, your warranty is toast if you leave the system in and take the car in for mechanical repairs. (most places)

Yes, anything more than a 50-75 shot will be putting additional stress on the engine. Effecting the longevity of it. How much, How long? I dunno. That depends on a lot.

ZEX can be had for around $400 and add 75Hp.

There is a bunch of other brands. Do some searching.......

EVERYONE has a favorite, and then you get into the wet/dry N20 discussions. Do some research until you know the differences between a dry and wet shot, directport, what running lean is, why running lean hurts your engine. Why gasoline is also a coolant for your pistons along with being a fuel.

Learn the basics.

Don't forget you can only have the power at wide open throttle. Like for racing, or 1/4 mile runs. In normal day to day driving you will not be getting any benifit untill you mash the gas & have enough road space to get to speed. You wouldn't want to anyway since you would be spraying all the time, & use up all your NOS, & have to refill.

thats the main reason I am shying away from the nitrous. well the wear and tear too, but mostly that I don't take my car to the track or really do too much real racing...I just want a faster car.

gonna stick to conventional stuff..headers and pulleys and the like.
