Help Needed: Putting A-Pillar Back in Place

All,

My radar detector was mounted on the inside of the windshield, with a cable running up the A-pillar on the drivers side. The suction cups gave out and my radar detector fell, loosening the A-pillar and having the pillar detach from the frame of the car.

I cannot get the pillar back because of some resistence near the bottom on the windshield's side. Has anyone had this problem before? Any idea how to fix it?

Please, please help! I need to get this fixed as it's very difficult to drive!

Thank you,
-Elliot

The bottom slides in then the clips engage into the frame. Just play with it. It should go in. Unless it's caught on the RD cable, or your not getting the clips in the holes right.
After the 3rd time taking mine off I had to get new clips cause the old ones would not hold anymore. There like $.69/each at the dealer.

Where do you get new clips? From the dealer? I don't tihnk that's my problem because I haven't gotten that far and I'm afraid of snapping something. Something at the bottom is caught.. Perhaps I should just take the entire beam out and start over?

Thanks for teh reply.

Sounds like the clips aren't aligned correctly with the holes in the pillar. Wiggle the cover around, moving it up an down a little bit until they line up. I had a little difficulty replacing the cover myself when I installed my radar detector. Take care not to break the clips, don't force anything in, just take your time.

Any suggestion where to get the clips online? Do you know the part number?

The pillar fell off again and I desperately want to get it fixed. Thanks, -Elliot

I can't be totally sure cause I can't seem to find an illustration of the clip, but I think the part number is 91560-S84-A11. Maybe call and Acura dealer and see if thats the correct part for the clip for the pilar garnish.
