HELP!!! Need to get at some coins that fell deep down...

The little drawer that is just above the heated seat buttons; "This is NOT an ashtray" drawer...

Well, I've had change in there since day one. But I've kept filling it and filling it. The other day the drawer wasn't closing porperly, so I removed all the change and took a look. There were some coins lodged behind that weren't allowing the drawer to close properly.

OK... So I removed the plastic "L" cover that hides what looks to be the diagnostic port for the car. I tried to get at all the change, but some of it fell all the way down.

So I tried to fish em out. No luck. I tried putting some sticky tape on a straw to remove them and now I lost the tape.

So how can I get down into this area to remove this crap???

It's WAY down there.

I don't wanna drive anywhere, as I can see all the coins and tape visibily. They'd certainly shift when the car is in motion.

Please help!!!

damn bro...im sorry to hear this! i had the same problem. i got lucky and fished mine out enough with a long skinny flat head screwdriver. trick is put the car in d1 and close the tray a bit so u have a lil leverage with the stuck coins. if u try to budge them with the tray all the way down they wont move.

good luck

I think I'm going to take the vacuum cleaner out there and see if one of the attachments can get in there to suck the crap out.

That's why I put all the coins in a freakin' tupperware thingy in the glove compartment!

If all fails, give David Copperfield a ring.

Damn, Scrib! I dumped a pile of toll tokens down there once and had the dealer take 'em out for me. So far as I know, they got 'em all.

Good luck.

Ewww... What about a claw pickup tool? ~$5 at Sears (or free if you can borrow one from a mechanic/IT friend.)

The whole time I kept thinking to myself I was playing the Operation board game. I even made the sound in my head when I touched something!!!

I've had my car completely apart in that area and I don't think there's anything there that will be harmed by the coins. But if you just got to have the coins removed, the H-manual will help you take the entire console apart, it's really easy, takes about 20 minutes. Actually I think it's pretty easy to do w/o the H-manual, just get a power screwdriver, it's a lot of screws.
