Help me understand what is going on
Tonight its been raining like crazy and the roads have been wet as hell and for reason i wanted to be reckless tonight. So i drove to a empty parking lot and try to do a "burnout" or at least attempt to keep the car in a stand still postion. Well the good news is that i did it without wrecking my car. Now the thing I dont understand is that for some reason when i kept the gas pedal down the car would not shift???? it just kept at 7k rpms and i couldnt tell if i was hitting the rev limiter or what??? The cl-s was motionless for less then a second and would slowly move foward. But I kept the gas pedal down for at least 4 seconds and i was at approx. 60 mph at a constant 7k rpm. Its pretty cool how fast the revs move up and the tach needle just shoots straight up too.
So my question is, why does the car not shift to second gear when i attempt this dangerous stunt?
can someone explain to me the proper way to do a burnout?
Oh yeah i had VSA off and torque braked to about 1500 rpms
