Hey guys, I was wondering if what you guys would pick for a trans if u guys were buying an 03. Would u get the auto again knowing all of the problems, or say fugit and pick a 6spd? I am a lil hesitant on the manual only cause a few of you have had their clutch bail on them at like 10k becasue of whatver reason. My ideas on the auto is like everyone and their mom has had problems, especialy me which my car is at Acura as I type for my 3rd Transmission.

To me, this is the easiest question in the world. I've never owned an automatic car, nor do I have any intention of buying an automatic car, if manual was an option.

The only cars that there would be a decision to be made would be on those with true clutchless manuals, like the SMG, or maybe some F1 tiptronic system -- but we're not talking about that here.

I would guess that if you have to ask it, then you don't want a manual. There is nothing wrong with an auto, and it is not less 'cool'. Enjoy it.

Loving a manual transmission is a way of life, and those of us that love it just do. The connection to the car and the road is that much better. Why does one like a rose more then an orchid? Why does one like a sapphire more then a diamond? Just a personal choice.

Drive both, and make that personal choice for yourself.

 

If the 6 spd had been available when I bought mine, there would have been no hesitation. 6 SPEED! No other option!
