The Touareg is coming out in the Summer, I would get the FX35 over the Lexus 330.
Although if your looking for luxury, the Lexus is better. Want something more Sporty but still has a descent interior, get the FX35. Both models though can quickly go above the $40k mark.

SUV
Within your price range 32K-37K, I would take the pilot.
RX330, FX is funky to me, no third row seat.
As for me the third row seat is important to me, yes I know it is intended for kids, but my rational is that it is better to have then not to have it. Plus if you don't use it it has much more room then the other two SUV's mention.

Pilot is probably the best bang for the buck, since you get the lower Honda nameplate price tag.
RX330 or MDX is probably a tossup next.
VW Touareg is rumored to be about the same in price as the FX45, mid $40s, but it is essentially a 4/5ths scale (in every way including performance) Porsche Cayanne, and at half the price.

Get the Fx, everyone has a Lex truck, no offense to anyone, but it's a bitchmoblie in my opinion. Should I rephrase MILFmoblie. Actually, get the RX and bring some MILFs over here.

The FX is pretty aggressive looking... quite sporty.
I have not test driven or looked at it up close.... hopefully soon.
Thus far, my fiance and I have our eyes on the MDX or RX300.
I'm not liking the new RX330 yet....
The MDX's size is nice... solid suv. Too bad it doesn't come with HIDs.
Most likely, after the house, we'll get one pre-owned. Just can't justify paying full price for a new one.

you wont get a FX45 with the options you most likely want for the price range you are looking for, youd be better off looking at the Murano. id have to say the QX4 would be a better option for getting the price range you want.

I was looking at getting a RX300 before I got my CL then I noticed that only WOMEN drive the RX! Tell him to get a Tahoe/Denali/Escalade and be done with it. The only others I would consider would be MDX, FX, 4Runner or Lex4Runner.
DO NOT GET THE RX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my dad wont go with anythin american, he has bad experience with domestic cars...and even if i try he wont listen.
it all really comes down to RX330 and FX35...and if only the VW suv was out now....

Amir, the new RX looks EXACTLY like the old RX with a huge wedge cut out of the top of the back.
Mark my words, it will be a womens ride just like the current RX is.
How about a Sequoia?

*The RX is very nice. I would imagine that it will be a female only vehicle just as the first gen. That wouldn't bother me too much since it is a great car! I only wish that the tails had a touch of red (similar to the 2003)
*The FX looks goofy, but I happen to like it in black!
*VW T-reg would be great if it was out now!
What about the Audi Allroad?

I'd say Range Rover, but oubviously their too much, but I also second the notion NOT to get the RX330, the taillights are ugly and it looks almost like the silver toyota truck shawn s's wife got

Highlander Limited---Loaded for 34,000 sticker--can be bought for around 31,000 to 32,000. Same engine as the Lexus RX-300 but based on the new Camry not the old one like the RX-300. Smooth, quiet, luxurious--roomiest back seat (like the BMW 7 series). No 3rd row though if you care--I bought it over the Acura and Lexus as it's a better value like the CL is a better value than the 3 series. Built in japan at the RX factory.

Yeah the toyaota is nice too and cheaper, but wont hold its value as well and you wont get the same service treatment.
Stick with Lexus

Why get an FX35? Get the 45 if you want it...otherwise, get the Murano...that crossover is very nice looking. You don't need 4wd, the awd is the same thing without the locking differential which is only used on hill climbing anyway.

Its the little things that make the difference, and since this car is for his father I'm sure those are things he is looking for along with having a great car.

You may want to consider the Audi Allroad (like it a lot) and the Volvo XC90 (also nice).
