Hey guys, I have an 03 cls-6. My warranty is about to expire in rougly 150 miles. I brought my car into service one last time for the sunroof rattle and a new IMRC. I had checked it the night before with a friend by reving past 4500 and I did not see it move. I informed the service writer at Walker Acura about what it is and does since he had never heard of the part. When I picked the car up two days later, I had gotten the response that I had expected. His tech of supposedly 13+ years said that the IMRC was fine and that it would not operate without being under load ( meaning you cant check it by just reving the engine, you had to have it in gear and be driving). I knew this to be false, but had no leg to stand on in an argument with the exception of the net. The tech of course said that the net was telling me false info. My question is does anyone have any written proof from acura, via a service manual or something similar, that describes how it works and that it will open while not in gear? I just dont want to pay to have this fixed while my car is still under warranty. Also, does anyone know the part #?

yes show them any 06 TL on the lot perform the function...also there is a video they could access via this site in the FAQ showing the IMRC in operation...

 

^ All of their inventory was flooded due to hurricane Katrina. There were no cars on the lot; besides customers cars. I thought of that. I guess I will have to try to show them the video.

 

Here's an easier option: go to a different dealer.
