Oh yea i didnt get a coolant hose for the icebox so i'm using my stock one, you think that would make a difference?
The coolant line doesn't have anything to do with it.

FYI - It does take about 3 cold starts to remap the ecu fuel curves I think. So it may take you some time of very light driving to get your mileage back up. I noticed in my car I was getting between 250-275 miles per 14 gallons of gas. I started driving on it very light for about 2 weeks (2 tanks of gas) and my mileage shot up to about 325-350 miles per 14 gallons. Give it a little while and see how it goes.

lately a lot of people have been complaining about gas milage in my area. Im thinkin that they have to be putting soomething into the gas, or taking something out so that everyone has to buy more fuel. Looks like they found a way to get more money from the public...

Actually, in the winter they add more additives to the fuel. I'm not sure why but they do it because of the cold. Not because they want to make more money.

That's why you'll sometimes here people talk about "winter gas"

Do a search on here for it, you'll see.

winter gas sucks, im getting 10-13 mpg i almost got 20 once during the summer

the higher idle associated with cold starts and the longer warm up that most people let their cars have in addition to running accessories doesnt help the situation

I Drove from Ft lauderdale to Orlando int airport and back a weeklater, hitting 80-90mph, no stops also on the drive up guy in a Merc S500 trying to race me.

435miles roundtrip on one tank of gas, before the light came on.

My CLS now has 71000miles on it......

Not bad at all.....

Okay I ran my TL from completely full, to the point where it would no longer run it was so dry. 467.6 miles.

Assuming the full 17.1 gallons were used, that's 27.3mpg (but we know the full amount wasn't used) and that's a mix of city and highway, with more city.

Is that ticking noise just at idle?

I was experiencing similar problems. When I first got my CL, I knew my EGR valve was bad (check engine light). I had it replaced by the seller for free and the light came back on a day or two later. So I left it at that. After a few long trips I noticed my mileage went down after avg. > 400 m/tank (and that was with a little less than a qt tank left).

Fast forward a yr or so and after some researching I got a guy to take off the valve and spray down the area with a can of B-12. When I got my car back the light was off and he said the problem should be fixed. At that time I was getting about 355-360 a tank and that's just before the light would come on. Took a road trip back home and got 420 miles before refilling (light did not come on yet, but gauge was low). I avg about 75-80 mph on the way back.

I tried to change/check everything I could
The gas mileage is still bad. 18 mpg city/hwy mixed

I just start thinking about if my failing motor/tranny mounts cause the problem, any ideals?

300+ for city driving sounds about right. Everytime I am in Ottawa I get really bad gas mileage cause I drive a lot different in that city. My normal driving is done in southern NJ, so there is a lot of open land and mostly highway driving.

Those are decent #'s for city driving. I avg 300-350 for stop-go traffic on the highway mixed with city driving.

When I'm only on the freeway it shoots up to 375-425

Actually that's normal. One guy on here was claiming to be getting 500miles+, now that's really high.

On one particular tank on a trip heading up north in aug 04 I got 425mi before the light came on at a rate of approx 32mpg. I won't forget it because that was the trip I made to introduce my soon to be wife to my dad.

I cruised a large majority of it at 70-75mph.

Locally, The best I've done just in stop and go traffic (I commute 60 miles a day nearly 80% of it in bumper to bumper) I avg about 23-25mpg.

I'm not the only one, there are plenty of others that have averaged at least 400mi when it's freeway only driving. It's very easy to attain that level. It's all in how you drive your car really and how well your car is maintained.

I found this article in my February 06 issue of C&D:

It's titled "Lousy Mileage? Is it your car, or your foot?"
