HELMS Manual Page For Brakes

I was wondering if anyone out there who has the HELMS Manual for the 01 CL Type-S could take a high res picture of the page for brakes as I'm about to install the Rotora Rotors on all 4 corners and new brake pads. I just wanna make sure there's no tricks and insure a quick and clean install. Thanks!

BTW: Is there a different service manual for the Type-S cause all I can find anywhere is for the 3.2CL but it never says if it applies to the Type-S as well but I kno that for the brakes it wouldn't make a difference but if I plan to buy a service manual I want to know that I can use it for everything.

THe Helms Manual encompases all the differences between the regualr and Type-S as well as the 6 speed. As for the brakes, I can see if I can later, but its the same as any other car.

Hrmmmm i don't have the USB cable to upload pics but how about a step by step instruction?

1) Jack up the car
2) Remove the wheel
3) Remove the bolt holding the brake line in place so you can move the caliper around easier
4) Remove the two bolts holding the caliper to the caliper bracket. Don't let the caliper hang from the brake line. Rest it on the suspension or use a wire to suspend it.
5) Remove the two bolts holding the caliper bracket to the suspension.
6) Use a #3 Phillips screw driver to remove the two screws holding the rotor on. If the screws strip just drill them out. You don't need to reinstall them (the rotor won't come off), however if you can you might as well.
7) Screw two bolts into the remaining holes in the rotor (not the ones that had screws in them) to push the rotors off. You might need a rubber hammer to smack them loose. Otherwise just yank really hard and wiggle them back and forth until the pop off.
8) Reinstall

I'm assuming you are installing new pads with the new rotors? I'd highly advise against installing used pads on new rotors. Especially if your old rotors are warped.

It shouldn't take more than 2 hours to do all 4 corners. Besure to bed the brakes in once you have them on. 5 stops from 30-5 MPH (don't stop!) Drive on the highway for 10 minutes without braking. 5 stops from 60-5 MPH. Drive again for 10 minutes without using the brakes.

My old rotors were warped and I'm still driving around on them with the crappy OEM pads too. The Satisfied Pro Ceramics came already but I've been waiting a whole month already but Street Beat Customs has been telling me that the Rotoras are coming in "any day now" for the past month...

Sorry to hear that. I know alot of the time it is Rotora's fault when it comes to late shipping. It took them 4 weeks to get me my SS lines.

I'd suggest a caliper seperator from an auto parts store for under $10.00 so you don't have to use a c-clamp on the caliper.

When would i need a caliper separator or c-clamp? Is that part of the removal or install?

The new pads will not go on with out pushing the caliper piston farther back into the caliper. It is very easy to do this with a C-Clamp.
