Hello I'm new here

Hey just wanted to introduce myself. I own an 03 CL Type S 6spd. Bought it a couple years ago with about 125k miles.... it's a little rough around the edges but it runs well and of course fun to drive. If I had it my way I'd throw a supercharger on it and call it a day but let's face it... I'm 31 years old, married, and have a mortgage. Those days are far behind me. Been a Honda/Acura guy for a very long time. Used to have a fully built 01 Honda Prelude. Had to sell it b/c it was time to grow up. Anyway wanted to introduce myself and say hi. Btw I'm dying to get my hands on an OEM CL Type S Shift knob. Seems those things are more rare than diamonds. If anyone knows where I can get one let me know. Thanks!

welcome! and you're never too old. I'm 32 this year, house, wife, 2 kids and have a supercharged 6speed.

Grab a 3rd gen TL 6speed shift knob. Screws right on and looks much nicer.

You know what I didn't know that. I'll have to check that out. Any suggestions where to purchase one? I've been out of the car scene for a very long time. Lost/forgot all my old hubs.

with the exception of amazon or ebay of course.

You're never too old! 31, wife, & two fur-kids on this end. As long as you have her support to mod, why not right?

Parts are definitely getting harder to come by as time goes on.

i think i paid like $30 from oemacuraparts.com but it looks like the price has gone up. where are you located? look on kijiji for any TL's being parted out or look at junk yards on carpart.com. Or you could post a WTB thread in the black market here. There are about 10 million 3rd gen TLs so you'll get one.

Okay maybe I'm completely out of my mind here but I've been searching that site all morning and can't figure it out. I don't see the shift knob in the list anywhere and when I search for it I get a bunch of other things pertaining to the transmission. Can you post a link that will just take me there?

Thanks man. So it's the $74 part it seems. Yeah that's a bit steep but I can pony up if need be. I'll look around online after work and see if I can find it cheaper. Really appreciate the heads up

Holy smokes I found the oem CL Type S shift knob on there for just under $200. Don't think I want the original knob THAT bad lol. It'd tempting but $74 for the TL knob might be the best bet. thanks again

no problem. Before you buy i would post a WTB add in the black market here. I'm sure you could get one off somebody for cheap.

If you can wait until next week I have a spare knob. I'll have to go get it off of my parts car this weekend. I have two so I can just send you whichever one looks nicer.

Lol that's awesome man. I am originally from Rochester NY and now I live in Orlando Fl. I guess when I moved away from all my car buddies and met my wife I just kind of drifted out of the car scene. I think another reason is because I experienced some serious financial hardship for about 3 years so as you know that makes it difficult to have fun with cars. My current car is a bit rough... I think it really just needs a fresh paintjob and to have a few of the dents fixed and then I can go from there. But with 170k miles on it I'm just not sure I want to spend that kind of money.
