Held My Own Against an E60 (M5)
I was going to work at about noon today on 280S and I saw this beamer in my rear view coming up fast. From the grill I thought it might be the new m3 or 335 so I was getting a little anxious b/c I haven't gone up against either one yet, but when I let the guy pass me I saw an even bigger beast m5
So I said fuck it and dropped it into 4th boosting to 5th to catch this guy who was definetly gunning it. Only the fast lane was open so it was pretty much a cat and mouse race from daly city to palo alto, but my radar was going off periodically so I had to let off the throttle at some points but this guy kept on smashing. It got to the point where I was in 6th and I noticed that I only had a couple thousand left on my rpm range but the beamer was still within a couple cars legnth. I had a feeling he could have probably opened it up more but overall it was a fun encounter. The thing I was really worried about was that at my work the CFO drives an E60 and it happened to be the same color, so when the guy took the same exit as me and got really nervous b/c it's not everyday you race the CFO of your company, but it turned out it wasn't the same guy
Oh, forgot to mention that we went at it one more time before he turned off near my work. I tested the handling of the cl taking a curve at about 90 in 4th I felt the car was too its limit, but nonetheless it was a pure adrenaline rush. Guess it's now time for the bike...
