heat versus exhaust volume

Maybe some of you know the technical details on this. Why is it, that my Comptech exhaust seems to be louder while driving with a hot engine, than it does with a cold engine. In other words, the deep drone seems to get louder while cruising when the engine has warmed up, versus cruising when the engine is cold. It's the exact opposite of a cold louder idle versus a warm quieter idle. This part makes sense to me because obviously the rpms are up a bit when cold idling. Also, as a side note, it's amazing to me how deep and aggressive the exhaust note is at lower rpms, and how it sounds more factory at high rpms. Maybe I'm obsessing, but just curious what your experiences are. Thanks.

Once you WOT a couple times the exhaust sounds louder/deeper, yeah. I don't know why either. It's nice though. I just wish it was always that noticable. I'm talking about the stock exhaust, btw.

I might have to get comptechs soon though. I'm so indecisive.
