Freddy, I feel for you man! God, I cant believe that happened man. Not to repeat what others have said, but it really upsets and angers me to see that kind of vandalism. On the bright side though, there is a valuable lesson to be learned..... which is to never let your gaurd down. Where ever you go, there are people out there looking to take advantage of you or your property. Plus, you might get a new paint job out of it. I dont know... just trying to make you feel a little better. Did this happen right after our meet?

sorry guy,

i had two similar experiences... well actually they both occured at my apartment complex...

first attemp was to take my 17s off of my 2000 civic ex coupe... they didnt get em... but they broke the driver side window and scratched the shyt out of the rims trying to get them off without jacking up the car... DUH....

and then they tried again a second time by busting the window again and popping the trunk to get at the jack... stupid fucks out there.... alarm was beeping like a mofo both times... thankgod...

thought of a perimeter alarm???

movies are too damn expensive anyway...

stay in with the woman order some carryout and chill at the crib.... keep the whips in the garage...

people are just ghetto nowadays...

How hard is it to get them out? I know the 02/03 Maxima's have had a ton of HID thefts. A badass alarm with shock sensors is souding pretty good to me right now.

A crowbar and less than 5 minutes. Ours are harder than the Maximas. Thats why we had less problems when the Maxima came out with HIDs.

Yeah, I don't think its that hard, after all they just want the bulb and ballasts. I am goint ot look into a new alarm system. I might even just sell the car in the spring depending on a few things. I got so many things going on I didn't need to think about this. We'll see...I even found a CF hood painted blue that I might look into but again what's the point if I sell the car. Fucking A!

Thanks Steve. Its true there are haters everywhere and we can't let our guard down. I hope this never happens to any of you guys because its a pain. It actually happened the next day (Sunday) right across the street.

gingerbread, that was a poor attempt at humor but it figures if you really are 17.

unless you bring the minivan and then we are gravy!

On a side note, took it to the dealership today and the rough estimate is $4500 bucks!! This is just the two side panels, hood, front bumper, labor, and checking for electrical problems!

Oh and the delaer told my wife, since she actually took the car in, that this month they have already had 6 cars come in without their HIDs! I guess the ring of thieves is moving up north because it used to be a serious problem (probably still is) in NYC/NJ. Kinda makes me want to smash every single civic with HIDs...although I know they did all get their illegally!

not all civics are using stolen HID's

when i have my civic i had HID's that came from an Audi S4, which i paid for from a junkyard

Guy at work got his stolen off his TL twice. Granted I work in Newark, NJ. It's freaking messed up.
Hope you get everything squared away. And one of you other posts said you needed a paint job, so now you have an excuse. That what I said when I got rear-ended.

It's such a shame that you need to worry about where you drive your car. Its not like we are talking about parking in some dark alley or something..we are talking about regular everyday things like going to the movies...People really suck sometime

We live in a world full of people with no respect...I am sorry to hear and SEE...what happened, I'm just glad you and your wife were not hurt...I had a friend get knifed at an intersection in florida so the crooks could steal his convertible corvette....but worse still...it was a stick...they couldn't drive it, so they just ran off...he went to the ICU with a punctured lung....I'll be praying that you get your car back better than new...and they get exactly what they deserve...

Thanks guys for the kind words. As pissed as I am it is just my car and could have been worse. I hope this never happens to any of you because it sucks to see my baby the way she is. Again though, rather this happen to my car than some other shit to a family member you know?

Shyt that sucks man.... I'm from Dorchester and i havent had a problem with my HIDs yet... i guess i gotta sleep with one eye open now.

I havent had any problems in Braintree but i did get my old Civic stolen from Randolph Theater on a day when they made you park in the overflow lots

reading this makes me upset and concerned. I live in NYC and Im afraid that this will happen to me so Im ready to do anything to prevent it. What can you do? Im so ready to install an alarm with sensors....where are these sensors installed? What is the best alarm?
