Exclamation Headlight help...

I have been having problems with my driver's side headlight lately. Yesterday I discovered it wasn't working so I tuned them on and off rapidly a few times and it worked. This morning It wasn't on so I did the same thing and it came back on, but eventually went out again. I am unfimiliar with these type of lights. What is the problem, what parts will I need, and how much will it cost? Thanks in avance.

Switch your bulbs to see if it's the bulbs. If both aren't coming on it's likely an electrical issue or a ballast.

My dad and I are going to switch out the bulbs this weekend to determine the problem. I think I am going to get some 8000K bulbs off of Ebay. I can get a set for about $70.

FYI rapidly turning your lights on/off is bad for your lights. When my alarm went off (headlights flash on/off) with my Plug and Play HID kit, it actually shorted the ballast out.

swap the bulbs you have now before going ahead and buying new bulbs...unless you want them anyways. Check the fuse to the headlight also. If it's not either of those then it's your ballast/inverter. I've replaced both of mine in the last year. It's an easy DIY.

Thanks for the help. I have to go buy the torx-bit tool and I'll try changing out the bulbs tomorrow.

Yeah I have the EXACT same problem..i was driving home from a friends house last night and my drivers side light just decided to go out. No flickering, no color change, just a cut off. This morning I popped the hood and checked the fuses and they were all good. I'm moving on to grounding wires but I fear for the worst...although that sparks a question. (excuse the pun) If no fuses blew, would that be indicative of a bad ballast, or simply a short somewhere?

At least this is a good excuse for me to switch to aftermarket bulbs/ballasts, not that I wanted to but imo aftermarket kit > stock inverter..Going down to work on the car, I'll post up what I find.

acura of peoria is fairly cheap, fast delivery. (for oem parts) http://www.oemacuraparts.com/partloc...?siteid=214055
Some ppl have used after market kits too. Lots of info on this, if you search. There's also a DIY.

I've searched and havn't found anything to really help me out. I am calling the stealership and local Honda shops to get prices.

You might want to try ebay..I found a ballast on there for about $140 but got outbid. There is another site that has $55 aftermarket ballasts.

I don't know how legit they are, so I'm also a little skeptical.

In other news, got a $91 fix-it ticket from a cop in the keys.
Finding an OEM ballast is proving to be more of a PITA than it's worth imo.
I'll either be hitting up Akinaboy or Hiddepot later on today to end this damn problem.
