headlight flickering after ballast install

So I replaced my worn out ballast with another one but now its flickering like a strobe light..

Anyone experience this? Search results aren't coming up with anything.

Make sure all of the plugs are connected properly and tightly, and that the bulb is seated properly in the ignitor

Was it new or used? May be another bad one if used.

Its a used ballast -- everything should be securely in place as well.

Would changing the fuse be of any help?

Prob won't hurt to check the fuse but if you didn't mess with it to begin with the fuse should be seated nice and sung still. I'd def go with AMGala and check the shit outa those connections. Also Check your body/engine grounds and your battery terminals, prob not it but never hurts to clean those up from time to time.

I just replaced one of mine. Sounds like the ballast is no good....usually that's what the lights do when the ballast is going out. But i would check the connection etc first.

check your fuse to be safe, I just replaced my ballast a couple days ago and it continued the flicker, I checked the fuse and it was blown. Put in another one and I was good to go.

I had the same problem as you're describing. It was a blown fuse in the under hood fuse panel. The fuse must have popped when the first inverter went bad.

Sorry to hijack, but I had both ballasts go out within a week of each other and I do NOT have $1000 to replace two ballasts. Given the fact that Acura put shitty ballasts in our cars, doesn't it make sense to put in an aftermarket one? Anyone have experiences with no-name replacements?

Also, is the inverter part of the ballast?

There have been guys who have put after market kits on. They're much cheaper. Not sure if the search function is working yet...but there is info on it. Inverter and ballast are the same thing i think....i've heard it called both.

Glad to hear it wasn't the ballast dru.
