headlight clearing dilema pt II
Peeps, thanks for your help so far with clearing my headlights. During this process I came to the part in the directions where I need to heat up the silicone on the seams of the light. My only question in this process is where? There is a black piece with tabs going on the back of the housing. Do I heat through this? I would imagine so because it seems as if the silicone is sticking to it.... thanks

i think the best way to prevent leaks is to completely remove the old adhesive stuff and clean all the edges and re-seal it good with the silicon. let it dry for about a day and you should have a good sealed cleared headlamp
realisticly they are going to leak cause they always do. its hard to put a good seal on them
but just cross your finger and if after a year and no condensation, well then you did a great job

You have assumed correctly. Make sure you are gentle with those tabs, I mangled mine. Just take your time, and be careful not to get any of the goo on the backside of the chrome housing. If you try and peel it up you'll take the chrome finish along with it. Good luck
