Headers Question

I'm thinking about getting headers. What I want to know is what else should I get with them to maximize the improvement (on the exhaust side of things). Also, how much money should I expect to spend for all this good stuff? Oh yeah, I live in CA so I have to use CARB parts or the lame asses won't pass me for smog when the time comes.

Thanks!

go w/ Comptech, all their stuff is carb legal. check out the faq. Pm Juniorbean, plan to spend over 1K new for headers, exhaust, bpipe and another couple hundred for installation unless you plan on doing yourself.

Ok cool.

I had one other question. What kind of power increase should I expect from these exhaust mods? Will it feel significantly more powerful? Basically, is it worth the money?

http://faq.acura-cl.com/ W/ the headers you will def feel the increase...as much as 30hp, catback...not really. I've heard you get better gains w/ the comptech icebox intake vs. AEM and other manufacturers. You should also look into improving the handling of your car by lowering springs, stiffer/thickers sway bars and better rubber for your wheels. If you really want some performance, go with a supercharger!

Awsome, thanks for the advice.

Anyone else out there want to add something? I'm just looking for people opinions on this subject. Good/Bad experiences with the mods. Stuff like that.

there are stone headers as well and a brand called alphawerks for alternative brands for headers.
I believe for the stone headers you can contact Nashua for info. Just do a search for his name.

good luck! Headers will definitely be the biggest gains in terms of the whole exhaust system.

If you're not currently running forced induction (Turbo, Supercharger) on your CL then i would skip on getting the exhaust done right now. In that i mean replacing the b-pipe and getting axle-back exhausts.

If your looking for performance gains only, those two exhaust mods wouldn't net you any additional power. Maybe 2-3hp at the most.

Just stick for now to Headers and either an AEM or Comptech Intake. Then if you want the looks and sound of an exhaust, go that route next.

And you can't go wrong with the Comptech headers.
