Headers

When installing headers is it ok to remove the catalyic converter or should it be re-installed? There are no emission inspections in FL.

Thanks for your input
Dave

BTW 500 miles and counting, can hardly wait to start on my mods.

Speacking of mods, does anyone in Miami know of or recommend Mike Alcalde. Miami Acura parts mngr gave me this guys name, said he used to work there, now is on his own etc...
my point being I am particular as to who I let work on my car, any referals?

I'm 99% sure that removing the catalytic converter is a violation of Federal law. (EPA stuff)
If your state doesn't have any visual inspections or a emissions test at inspection you may be able to sneak by BUT I wouldn't recommend it.
I don't think the dealer would be to excited about it either.
It would probably void all your emission's equipment warranty.

The O2 sensors may be involved there too, I dunno ?

Where's EricL when you need him ?

Johntypes and I upgraded our catalytic convertors to highflow ones, and we lost a good amount of torque but gained a little top end. That torque we lost wasnt worth the gains in hp. Keep that in mind.

Is the loss in tourque from removing the converter due to not enough back pressure or what else?
