Headed to Capital Raceway this Friday...
Gonna try and make a few passes in the new CL-S. Looks to be the lowest temps recently and definitely the lowest humidity.
Anyone local wanna come play too?
Finally gonna see some S/C'ed 6MT track times. Don't expect anything spectacular though. I've only had the car for 2 weeks.

Yeah i've been waiting for a decent day. The car is headed to Tischer Friday morning for a check up. So if I don't get it back in time the track is a no-go. I'm sure they wouldn't like me dragging a TSX loaner

Still stock exhaust, no cooling mods, no intake manifold spacer...
I hook up pretty well though

Well the tires on the car are to the point where they aren't bald but they are really worn down. That actually helps me hook up. It still breaks loose and spins in 1st gear after 4,000 rpm and then breaks loose again after I've shifted into 2nd. We shall see what lower tire pressure does. Also, my buddy with the drag radials is coming so maybe we'll swap those on for a run

I'm gonna go easy on the launch. Rev to 2500-3000 and ease it out. I'll let you all know how things turned out tonight or tomorrow morning.
The forecast says at 6pm it will be 74 degrees with 41% humidity

Well lets just say it wasn't a good night. The first run I bogged down badly and then spun. 2.44 60'. Second run I launched well but messed up shifting and ran a horrible run. My best run of the night was my last.
2.2 60' Nailed all the shifts very well but still only managed a 14.3 @ 99 MPH. My best trap was on the first run at 101 MPH.
So obviously something is wrong with the car. Even in 90 degree weather my automatic CL-S trapped 103 MPH. Tonight was low 70s with low humidity. Perfect night.
I got home and checked the ESM voltage. It is at 2.90v. Isn't it supposed to be at 2.93v? I'm gonna go adjust it and see what happens.

Running the standard Comptech ESM. Nothing fancy.
I mean my times are what a N/A 6-MT should run with I/H. Maybe there's a vacuum leak? Time to hook up those gauges.

Man, sorry to hear that - ESM can be as low as 2.8V - mine is at 2.75V. However the E-manage is slightly different from the Comptech ESM due to the different ground levels.
The 6-speed is a bitch to drive... albeit your mph is very low for a S/C car... on par for a slightly modded NA car.

yes....for performance oriented drags then yah. The car must have solid pair of tires. Power gets there quickly and so any slippage or lack of traction down low will kill the times. A/S tires will not suffice if you want good track times. Drag radials and/or dedicated track tire/rim setup is a must. Clutch will take a beating but that's the nature of the beast.

Yeah I really don't get it. A 2.2 60' is a great time for a 6-speed so I should have run much faster. I was really banging through the gears too. I guess I need to first install the gauges in this car (which I've been too lazy/busy to do lately) and then take it to the dyno and see wtf is going on.

Traction wasn't that much of an issue. I spun a little in first but I didn't really go WOT till very close to redline. Of course I broke loose again in 2nd.
My automatic N/A CL-S was faster than this 6MT was last night

Last night wasn't a total waste though. I did get to see a Cadillac CTS-V run 12.60 @ 115 MPH on stock tires.
Magnacharger @ 6psi + headers + exhaust = $8,000.

yea sorry didn't mean that for your runs. 2.2 is good for a 6MT. Only thing is with the LSD is that spin isn't the best thing anytime. My best launches were with warm tires and no grip. But my setup was with SSRs 17x8 with wide ass tires. I could feel with the tires would dig in and when they were slipping.
once you get the gauges installed, you will know if fuel/boost is your problem and can go from there.
if you feel a weak low/midrange, it could be fuel related. Make sure to check your fuel pump and fpr if it is a fuel problem.

The previous owner could hear pinging with the IMRC connected after the high boost pulley was installed. Thus, it is staying disconnected.
