Having probs trying to program remotes!

Im trying to program two 03 Acura TL remotes i was able to get a hold of and im following all of the below instructions but having no luck.

How do you program the key fob remote?
You can have a total of three remotes for your car. to program them do the following.
Between each step, wait about a couple of seconds. Also note that it doesn't matter in any of the steps if you use lock or unlock. Just hit one of them.
Repeat the following set of steps three times:
turn the ignition switch on. (Note: This is the III position, and you do not have to start your car)
push the remote lock button with remote aimed at the rec. in the passenger multiplex unit. (This is by the glove box).
turn the ignition switch off.
turn the ignition switch on.
push the remote unlock button while aimed at the rec. You should hear the locks click.
push the remote lock button.
within 10 sec. aim the remotes (up to threee) that you want to set at the rec. and press the lock or unlock buttons. When you do this each remote should be locking/unlocking the doors.
Turn off the ignition and remove the keys.
All the remotes should now work.

I guess my first question would be....what is the rec. (passenger multiplex unit.) I pointed the remote all over around and under the glove box which doesnt seem to work. Any help would be appreciated with anyone that has done this already with success.

Sit in car with doors closed
Easy version:
put key into ignition (hold other remote in hand)
Verse 1: Turn key two clicks, press other remote button
Repear verse 1
and again
and again
You'll know if it sets, because you will hear the doors lock and the the lights flash.
To test take key out of ignition and hit the lock/unlock button.
Be sure you hit the unlock button before trying to get out of the car, or it's going to be noisy

You can point it at your head if you want. I always just hold the remote and click, no special angling.

Just think about when you unlock your car. Dop you always aim at the car ?
just incase you do j/k you can aim it up in the air and it will still unlock.
Welcome
