Who are you ??

Most probably upgraded to the 6spd, like ShawnS, and Teh Snaps, but I'm curious how many others are out there...

Fuzzy, are you on your 2nd or 3rd 2nd Gen CL ??

I think soopa (the admin) has had 2 (a red one and a black one)...

Is there a story behind why you've bought more then one ??

Well I went to go buy a g35 coupe but they wanted 10K more than what i payed for my CL-S! Same year model too over priced shits! But I like my choice that i went with!!!! I think the interior is 10 times better! Also I was able to keep most of my old mods like my suspension I will say this with headers intake and exhaust that I had on my auto, my 6-speed is just as fast stock!

I saw ur thread all mine! Only thing is that 1 to 2 shift is tricky! This car was my first manual i owned! I have had for 3 months and I still jerk it every once in awhile!

02 silver auto traded for 6mt
03 silver 6mt sold to Minch00. Job outlook wasn't good needed to save some $$
03 anthracite 6mt bought used, It's almost paid for.
Bought it cause my Explorer I was driving daily gets 10MPG & doesn't like HW speeds.

I have owned a 2001 CLS and now have a silver 2003 CLS six speed. The main reason that I got the '03 was the six speed.

I have 35k miles on the '03 and have not had a single problem. Reliability, performance, exclusivity, plus the CLS is a good looking car and I could not beat it for the money; those are other reasons why I got the '03.

Unfortunately, my lease is up in October and I have my eye on the new BMW 335 twin turbo coupe - we'll see!

I'm not a big fan of getting into the same car for the sake of auto to manual. I guess if you like the car that much then why not. But for me there are too many cars out there I would want to try first before I get the same car in manual.

I drove my '01 CLS for 105K miles. I went through three trannys. The first one went at 61K. The next two went pretty quickly. I loved the car, so I traded for an '03 6 speed. It was the owners program car. I got a good deal and have never looked back It is 1 of 43.

I bought a 01 clp White @ 65k drove till about 90k (paid 12k) then gave it to my baby brother. Then bought a 03 6speed Black @ 75k that now has about 80k (paid 15k).

Bought a 3 mo. old white/tan 03 6 speed, decided the CLS was a keeper but I got the wrong color, (inside and out) and wanted a loaded one with Navi.

After a year I sold it and flew to OK to get my current anthracite Navi 6MT (autotrader). It had only 7500 miles, my white one had 15k. cost me about $750 to do the switch.
Love the black interior and rarer Anthracite and Navi. I'm at 33k miles now, got 9 months more of warranty.

first was an 03 CL-P black/black

traded that in for an 03 CL-S 6 w/Navi silver/black

the silver 6-speed clutch/flywheel/bearings all went because of a clutch cable linkage which snapped within 4 hours of ownership...we returned the car and got my first/ black CL-P back.

thennn just yeterday, i traded in my 03 CL-P for a gorgeous black/black CL-S 6 w/o navi .....CATCH...only 14,200 miles!!!!!

I'm on my second. Basically, got the 6 speed because of the tranny problems as I'm sure most did.

All the mods basically transferred over or were sold.

I've driven a few of them, they're fun. The shifting is no biggy to me. My last car was a stick. So it's super easy for me. It'll just be weird having that extra gear.

I think I may look at a CLs in a couple months. I'm selling my CL because the wife and I need a 4 door car or SUV. When she gets her driver's licence, I'm thinking of giving her the new car and buying another CL. I would like a 6 speed, but will probably settle for a CL-s with Navi. If I do it, I'm thinking of going with Anthracite.

I traded the 02 for an RSX and decided the RSX was not the car for me!! That last about 2-3 months and realized that I need to be in the CL so I got myself a good'ole 6-speed!! I must say I absolutly love this car!! I really see nothing else on the road that I like except for an S2K or GTO (which are not practical for my daily comute). This car will easily take me over 100k miles! I will have this car for a while!

Two 6 speeds for me. The first one was lemon with front end problems, so I got a replacement.

I've had both lower control arms replaced on my 6spd. One at 7500miles and the other at 15000 miles...

What was the deal w/ your's ??

I had an 01 that went through it's first transmission in 28000 miles, the second tranny went by 32000ish, 3rd tranny at 40000ish and the 4th tranny with the updated ecu is still going strong at 95000. I sold it to a co worker who drives it daily and had the recall work done to the tranny. I sold the car in early 04 with 62000 on it.

for a while there I had 2 cls at the same time, I bought my 03 6spd in sacramento in Nov. 03, brand new, moved to florida and sold the 01 finally, should have just taken the loss at the dealer as I had a hard time selling the dad-blasted thing.

Happy with the the 6spd, a fun car. here's a pic of my first one taken just before i sold it. When i sold it, it had not one door ding on it, within two weeks, the new owner had several and since then, it looks like someone took a ball peen hammer to the sides. My 03 doen't have one ding in it I'm proud to say. phone cams suck.
