Have you ever raced a ....

.... Lincoln Mark VIII (1993)?

My neighbor has one that's pretty cherry, and stock. He wants to race my CL-S. I think it may be a close match up, he's got a 290hp 4.6L with an auto tranny.

Anyone know the 0-60 or 1/4 mile time on it?

I've never raced one and I had no clue on their stats

But a Z28 will kill us

You should be able to take him. That is a old car...shouldn't run as fast as it did when it was new.

I've already raced a buddy's '97 Z28 and came very close to beating him! He took me off the line (I had VSA off) but I started to catch him after I went into 2nd. When I stared to back off at 90 mph I was right on his ass!

I can't tell you the stats... but my mother was driving my father's Mark and was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer! She had minor injuries. The car was smashed in the back and flipped over a few times. I was ahead of her and saw the whole thign in my rear view mirror. Not a pleasant experience. I had to get out and peer in that window thinking I might not like what I saw. But when I got on all fours and heard her say "Get me the !$#@%*& outa here!!!"
It was a '95 Mark VIII, and I can tell you right now, the CL-S would kill it. It was a 4.6L, same as the Mustang GTs at the time, I believe.
My father's Mercedes ML320 (a SUV) handles better than that thing. Acceleration was terrible, handling was worse. I drove it in my highschool's 1996 homecoming. Other than that, the car was a dud.
On the other hand... The car's massive size and weight is what probably saved her. Some girl in a Dodge Neon in the same accident (22 cars involved) was nearly killed. The Neon was folded in half by the Mark (chain reaction) and it took them an hour to get her out.
There was a full sized Mercedes (E500?) front and back ends smashed... the cabin didn't get touched.
Safe driving!
