Has anyone towed anything with the CL-S like a Wave Runner?

I am considering buying one, but wondering if the CL-S can do it without any problems? Tranny issues or anything like that?

I need to find a place for a hidden hitch to be installed and wiring. But I am considering getting a 1500 Yamaha or maybe the new Honda Turbo one. I haven't researched yet, but I have ridden the yamaha many times, and love it. My friend with a full-size truck says I might have problems with the full size wave runner which weighs about 1k with trailer, etc. Any ideas?

The manual tells how much weight you can tow. I'm not sure off the top of my head. Take a look.

I have a tow hitch on my 2003 6 speed. It's barely noticable. It was $112 installed. I only use it for my bike rack, but it's rated at towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. I could post pics tomorrow if interested in how it looks.

Please do, and what kind of hitch is it, and where did you get it installed? Thanks.

The hitch was installed at a local hitch shop. It's a Drawtite. I don't recall the model #, but just look for 2001-2002 in the Drawtite product catalog. They don't have a 2003 listed yet, but it's identical to 2001-2002 for hitches. They had several in stock so no need to special order. It is a 1 1/4 inch receiver with a 2,000 towing capacity and 200 pound tongue weight.

The hitch is barely noticable as you can see in the first picture.

That looks like its mounted into the spare tire area? If I am right, that isn't a very sturdy place, it should be mounted on the actual frame rails.

Hmmm....a 900lb wave runner might rip that pan up.

It is mounted into the spare tire area, but it is extremely sturdy. It was designed for this mount. I wouldn't hesitate to tow a 1,000 pounds. Here's a pic from the inside of the truck showing the two inner bolts.

Here's a closer shot of one of the two bolts in the bottom of the trunk area.

In addition to the two bolts anchored into the bottom of the truck, it's bolted right below the bumper to what I think is part of the frame.

Here is the site...

http://www.drawtite.com/hitches.htm

I went there, and the picture they show doesn't match yours. Ideas?

The picture that Drawtite is using on their website for the CL is not the same as mine. I just checked my actual hitch for the model #. It is #24676 which is the number listed on their website for the CL, but with a different picture. Drawtite is using the same hitch photo for most, if not all makes of cars even though the hitches are different. If you order one, what you see on my car is what you will get.
