Has anyone painted the mudflaps on the car to match the body color?
If so, can I see a picture? Im thinking that my silver CL-S would look better if the factory built in mudflaps were painted to be the same color as the car...any thoughts or experiences?

wow never been to the 2gen forum... *shock and awe*
a lot of 1gen have painted factory ones... you can do the prep work yourself and go get them sprayed for pretty cheap... alcohal the flaps up... and then sand down.

actually if you prep the plastic right it will adhere very well.
it all depends on the prep work. how do you think that they paint plastic pieces?

I will get mine painted this winter.. i have an extra set to work with... after they are painted I plan on using that 3m clear protective tape to cover the inside and corners of the flaps so rock chips do not damage them..

dude you have to buy a solution called "bulldog" it ensures that the paint will adhere to the plastic
and it wont chip unless you kick it or do something stupid

yea i do and you use a self etching primer. the primer eats into the bumper. if you live in the south should have no probs but if you live up north you have to deal big salt chucks pot holes all kinds of shit that will fuck them up. im not say that it wont stick but in harsh condtions they tend to chip the clear coat and or paint.

jea thats what i meant too... the paint will bond 100% under proper condtions... but as evil just explained the car kicks up and endless amount of debris off the road and the flaps will take a pounding...
maybe a few extra coats of clear coat....
they also sell a clear coat thats meant for parts that are subject to abuse (the name escapes me) but its isnt smooth... when the clear dries its kinda "bumpy" but that shit takes a beating man...
ju know the name evil??

Mine already were color matched from the factory! well pretty close on the anthracite.
Seems like these would need different prep than a plastic bumper, these are rubbery and flex a lot more than a bumper cover.
Question- my mudflaps on the back, at least, do not fit flush, and have gaps. did the dealer not give me the mounting hardware, all I got was the flaps. I'm thinking of taking them off.
