Has anyone here REPLACE the FUEL FILTER yet?

Seems to me I guess we should all at least replace the fuel filters when we hit around 80k miles or something from what I'm guessing...I believe its located inside of our fuel tank..whooaa thats gonna be hard to replace and labor hours too...just by looking at the freaking illustration:thinking: or I could be wrong

I was under the impression that the CL/TL/Accords didn't have a fuel filter... They only have a fuel pickup screen in the fuel tank.

When I put in my high flow fuel pump in my accord it only took around 35 minutes...

There HAS to be a filter someplace in the line for a fuel injection system. The injectors have such small orifices that they would routinely plug if they didn't. Even my Ducati has an in-tank filter for it's FI system, Harley's do, my Ford and Miata do. And you shouldn't really wait until 80k miles. I haven't check the Acura manual yet, does it mention it?? Maybe it's like the POS transmission and it's there, you just can't get to it.

If there is one, It doesn't need servicing. It's not listed anywhere in the maintance.

dealership service dept. said fuel filter its not necessary to replace. only under the circumstance of replacing the fuel pump should you want to replace the fuel filter as well. maybe that's because they are so closely tied into the system it would make sense to replace it because everything's probably very accessible at that point.

fuel filter on our cars are w/ the fuel pump...integrated as one unit pretty much. No need to replace it as it is an unsericable item. don't worry about it...it's fine

i replaced it at about 80K. its not as hard as everyone makes it sound, took me 1 hour. didnt notice a difference.
i dont buy into the 'lifetime' parts. i say only do it if youve got the mileage, and plan on keeping it for a long time

I looked into this a little bit a while back, and am probably gonna swap it out with the 100k maintenance (late 2004 est.). I plan to keep the car for another 100k, so I think it's worth it in my case. YMMV
