Has anyone gone against a 240hp stick accord

I just saw in car and driver the car hit 5.9 1/4 at 14.5 which is faster than the CLS manual. The CLS has 260hp and more torque than the accord but is a bit heavier. Who's faster stock vs stock

I have run one on two different occasions, with similar results.

Both times, the accord jumped out of the hole aboput a half of a car. On the 1-2 shift (I only gate shift), I was able to catch up and jump about 1/2 car , then pulled another 2 cars while winding out second. Ths ended at about 70mph.

The second time we rana up to about 110, and was easily 3-4 cars from a stop.
I current run only CAI, Nitto 555 and a fuel additive.

I've seen road tests that show great times for both, so it's a drivers race.

yes this is true....USA today and people at v6p.net have slips that show .1 or .2 secs faster in 1/4 mile.

gotta remmeber...the auto and the 6sp have different intake valves and different intake systems...the 6sp intake system is suppose to be just as good as an aftermarket intake....so if u race a auto...dont think stick is gonna be just as easy....6sp is pretty damn quick out the box.

so either one of two scinareos

1. you ran an auto. 6SPDs have read V6 markers

2. you ran someone who can't drive worth shiet.

just my 2 cents.

In 1/4 mile run, I am sure I can pull on any V6 Accord stock 6-speed or Auto, even CLS-6!

I just wanted to add a little something on the whole accord 240HP thing, although I think most people on here know this, and it is indeed beating to death an already dead horse, but:

The 2003 accord coupe V6 is NOT making 240HP, especially on premium fuel. Now let me explain. Lets assume that the accord does indeed make 240HP for a second. Now most manuals loose 15% of power between HP at the crank, and HP at the wheels. Now take 15% of 240, and what would you get? 36 right. Now subtract 36 from 240, now what do you get? 204whp right?. so the accord rated, at 240HP, should dyno at 204whp. Now a while ago, temple of VTEC takes a stock 2003 accord coupe V6 manual, puts premium fuel in the tank then dyno's using the UNIVERALLY ACCEPTED dynojet dyno(with sae correction). these were their results:

217WHP, and 195wtq(notice how the car surprisingly makes 90% of peak torque starting from 2,000rpms!!!!!). so what number shall we take 15% out of to yeild 217whp? well if you do the math, you'll get 255HP. so the accord is 255HP. WOW! ovbiously a very underrated engine right? well yes, this is common these days. for instance the dodge neon srt4 was rated by dodge to be 235 crank HP, but guess what? people dynoed and got 235HP at the wheels!! now here is a very good article that talkes about another underated car: The nissan altima, and why the 15% thing is so universal:

http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/...altima_update/

also the mazda rx8 is another car that fell victim to the 15% thing. members dynoed and got an average of 10-20whp less than what they should have gotten had the car been 250HP(stated by mazda), and lost 15%. Mazda is now offering to buy back these cars.

TOV dynoed the 6spd CLS and got 218whp/197wtq. Very similar numbers to the accord. that engine is rated by acura to be 260HP. Now why did they underrate the accord? well at the time the accord was released the CLS/TLS was still onsale. It was a wise marketting decision by honda to underrate the Honda numbers so as not to scare away acura buyers.

So now back to the point of who will win. All things being equal, if the accord is on premium gas, the accord should win, why?

1. same amount of power to the ground, in fact the accord shocked the TOV by putting out 90% of max torque at 2,000rpms!

2. on average there is a 350-400lbs difference between the two cars

SO why in the world Acura will put the same Type-S engine plus 10 HP (throtle body and integrated Exhaust manifold)? why not give stroke the 3.0L engine that is making 255HP to 3.2L and you will get 280 HP unless Acura is also underating the new TL engine and is in fact making close 290 HP!! (eh, not to upset NSX owners?)

It was all the time rumored that the new engine will make 270-290 HP.

Let us wait and see the first Vtec dyno!245-250 WHP possible from a the 6-speed, if so, it would be a low 14s car!

Since it has now a CAI and 11.0 compression ratio and e-throtlle I guess it is possible to benefit from 93-94 Octane.

The new TL 6-speed is lighter than the current TL-S by like 76 lbs.
