Hardwiring Radar Detector to Rear View Mirror?

Does anyone have instructions on hardwiring a RD to the powered OnStar mirror? I found some old threads that mention connecting to the fuse box, but I'd rather stay closer and not have to take apart the interior as much as possible. Also most threads are old and the pics are gone.

I bought the Escort SmartRadar, which comes with necessary wires for hardwiring.

This is the only relevant thread I've seen.

Thanks.

Pop it open and look for the power wires. Tap them and you're good.

Usually you get something like this.

It is no trouble going to the fuse box. The only piece you have to remove is the A pillar cover on the driver's side. Just pop it back into place when finished. You can route the wire inside of the trim piece at the top of the windshield without removing anything.
