Hardest Personalized Plates Combination To Remember

What is the hardest combination to remember for personalized plates? This past summer, I bought some personalized plates for my CL. My car's nickname is White Heat. Thus, I used an abbreviation for White Heat as my combination.

I would like to add personalized plates to my winter vehicle (2006 Jeep Liberty). My lifted KJ's nickname is BIG RED. However, someone already has the BIG RED plate in MN Since I can't get the original combination that I wanted, I thought I would get a plate that is hard to remember/difficult to read from afar. I want to make it difficult for people to memorize my plates to deter them from calling them in. I also want to make it more challenging for authorities to easily creep on me. Here are the guidelines I have to adhere by when selecting my combination.

Personalized Plate Combination Guideline
  • Maximum number of characters allowed (including spaces and/or hyphens) is seven (7) for passenger class vehicles and six (6) for one-ton pickups, motorcycles and self-propelled recreational vehicles. Please note that the same or similar alpha or numeric character, even if separated by spaces(s) or a hyphen, are considered to be the same choice (e.g. "AB, "A B", or "A-B" is considered the same as are "TOM" or "TØM", or GET1" or "GETI." Combinations of characters and spaces and/or hyphens totaling more than the 7 or 6 characters allowed will be rejected.
  • Only the following upper-case letters may by used: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y and Z
  • Only the following numbers may be used: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and 9. Please note that a license plate combination cannot be all numbers. Your request must include at least one alpha character.
  • Hyphens and spaces are allowed. No more than one space or hyphen is permitted between adjoining characters. However, more than one space or hyphen is allowed in the plate combination.
  • Personalized plates cannot duplicate other personalized plates, special plate series, or any other plates in a number system used by the Driver and Vehicle Services Division. There are several plate sequences that cannot be used for personalized, personalized-collector and original plates. They are
    = All combinations of 3 alpha and 3 numeric characters (ABC123 or 123ABC)
    = All combinations of 2 alpha and 3 numeric characters ( AA123 or 123AA)
    = All combinations of 2 alpha and 4 numeric characters (AA1234 or 1234AA)
  • No words or combination of letters placed on a personalized plate may be used for commercial advertising.

The ones the DMV give you are pretty hard to remember. Just say when you got them that they are your personalized plates.

I've known my standard plates, and the majority of friends' for the longest time. It's awkward when you're with them somewhere and you're asked for their plate number

OP's got the wrong intentions, but I've always wanted 11I1I1II1 or O0OO0O or something similar just for the mindfuck factor

don't know friend's plates, but yeah learned mine like after 2 weeks or so

That's actually a good combination.

Allow me to explain myself, since I am getting flamed. The cops in my area are total assholes. Here is one of my experiences with the pricks. I am driving my brother's T-Bird. I take a corner and hit a slick spot on the road causing me to run the curb and hit a speed sign. FYI - 4.6L V8 RWD with bald tires during Winter = bad combo. The sign got bent back only 5°. However, my fender was not so lucky. I just nicked the sign causing it to peel my fender back like a sardine can. Within a minute and half, 10+ people called my license plate in (I know this because the officers informed me). Before I knew it, I had three squads pulling me over! They gave me the works (pulled me out of the car, interrogated me, even though it was only 3PM they breathalyzed me, etc.). I was very cooperative with them (since I didn't do anything wrong) and they still treated me like shit. Long story short, I received two tickets: driving an unsafe vehicle and hit & run. This is just one experience; I can go on and on... I thought getting a tricky plate to memorize would help prevent situations like this from happening...

How are my intentions wrong??

FYI - "O0OO0O" would not pass MN guidelines. The letter O and the number 0 are considered the same character.

Doing so in a car with bald tires is indeed driving like a tard. And if hitting a slick spot caused you to hit the curb and a stop sign, then you were going too fast for the conditions It happens to me (not the crashing part), and probably to everyone once in a while. Doesn't make it right. My

Getting a hard to read plate won't help you, if anything you'll stand out more. Now, instead of memorizing your entire plate, anybody who phones you in will just say "It's the guy with a bunch of 1s and I's in his license plate, driving xxx car.

Like I said, it's kind of a novelty, but I wouldn't use it as a tool to avoid getting pulled over. If 10+ people called you in, you must have been doing some crazy shit.

I take really good care of my vehicles. However, I needed to take my brother's car that day and I ain't buying new tires for a vehicle that is not mine

I "crashed" since I hit the slick spot at the apex of a turn. I was unable to steer and went straight up on the curb. I know, it's some crazy shit that required 10+ complaints

I know there is always the easy way of reporting vehicles by just describing them. If they get your exact plate combo on top of the description, it's a double whammy. A single whammy is better than a double whammy. My

Apex, like the inside of the turn? And you went wide all the way to the other side and up the curb? How fast were you going?

And my point about the plate was that a government issued plate number is probably a bit harder to identify, since it has the same letter and number arrangement as most others on the road. A personalized plate, especially one with similar-looking characters, will be easier to spot. It'll be harder to read the exact number, but MUCH easier to spot.

just need a run of the mill plate (i know every plate here is 3 digits followed by 3 letters; not exactly like the easiest plate to identify)

also just get the standard plate, no designer plates or anything

Over here it was 3 letters followed by 3 digits, then it was 3 digits followed by 3 letters, now it's four letters followed by 3 digits. I guess ON goes through plates pretty fast

What kind of designs do you guys have available? Over here it's just blue characters on a white background. Can't get any special design or background, but you can get a plate where you can have the logo of your choice printed where the first digit would go, and then most people would have some combo of numbers and letters following.

We have 3 letters then 4 digits. The standard plate is white with blue letters (what I have). VA is the land of excessive custom plates though. We have over 200

Its only $10 a year extra for the personalize plate. I run the personalized plate on my bikes, but not the cars. You can order plates online and for some reason you can choose handicapped plates for motorcycles

Damn, you guys are lucky. Vanity plates here are like an extra $100 or something crazy, but it's a one-time thing.

I've always wondered how the VA plate system works. My uncle in Springfield has an Avalon that he bought new in 2000, and the plate was YMM XXXX. What happens in VA after ZZZ 9999? You can't just go back and start over, can you?

In VA, with the amount of personalized plates, I really dont think they need to worry about that.

And just for reference, mine start with an X. I got them last year.

about 10 years ago it was 3 letters followed by 4 numbers; then they did a pretty decent redesign (not really they just flipped the green and whit around lol), and went to the 6 digits


also you have to remember Ontario is bigger then most states here, so you go through plates faster

also as a side note, i know the first couple of letters are assigned to certain counties, so just by looking at the combo, you can tell what county it is from (we do not have the county on the bottom of the plate, just "Colorado")

sometimes i don't get the handicapped plates either, like being on an extremely stiff suspension car like a BMW Z3 or something


also all of our "special" plates are also available in motorcycle plates too

Aren't all cars dangerous (to some extent) during inclement weather?? I find it very amusing that no one thinks my tickets are a joke for what happened.

I hit the slick spot at the outside apex of the turn (if that makes sense). I know apex typically means the inside of a turn, but I am referring to that relative location just on the outside of the turn. I was going about 35 MPH.

I agree with your comment about government issued plate numbers being harder to identify on the road and personalized plates, with similar-looking characters, being easier to spot.

I just described one example/scenario. It would be nice to have plates that are hard to idtenify for everyday minute things that some people really despise (loud music, speeding, etc.).

MN plates used to have 3 letters followed by 3 digits; the characters were blue and embossed. A couple years ago MN transitioned to "digital" license plates. The new plates have 3 digits followed by 3 letters; the characters are black and flat. We are unable to have the logo of our choice printed on our plates. My CL's vanity plates ran me $108.50.
